I was looking at stereos today on Crutchfield.com and they said the only thing that fits a 2006 Lincoln LS with 12 speakers is single din's. But I searched around and saw people that have double din stereos in Gen 1 Lincon LS's.

So here is my question will this: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/DVD-Receivers/AVH-P4300DVD fit in a 2006 Lincoln LS?

1 more thing my amp is messed and makes a loud pop when the music is loud and then I have no bass. So can I put in a non oem or does it have to the ford amp?

well since there are a ton of people on here that have double din radios, i would say that it is safe to say that a double din radio like any of the pioneer AVH's would also fit.

and yes, you can replace that factory amp with an aftermarket amp, its even easier if the factory radio has been replaced.

Crutchfield said that this would not fit. If you can come up with the dimensions of this one (Sony XAV70BT I believe) just dont go any bigger. I think if it was 1 MM deeper it would not have worked. Installation was a challenge, but it is doable!!

Crutchfield tends to say nothing double din fits the LS. Not the case though and the Pioneer avh-p's definitely fit

They came with double dins at one point. Don't know if they were true double all the way back but they came with screens, some of them.

the real reason why they say it wont fit is because double din dash kits have not been around for that long, everybody used to buy a OEM nav bezel and cut it up to make it work along with reusing the factory radio brackets to hold it in. it looks like they never updated the cars info when the kit finally did come around.

If you actually look at the factory radio, it's the size of a double din unit by looking at it from behind the face plate.
