hard shifts, r/r solenoid pack & valve body?

I've read that it's recommended to remove/replace the solenoid pack and valve body at the same time. Is this something that I can do in my garage? I prefer to do maintenance stuff myself. any write ups on this?

Well unless you have a lift and/or can work on your back for a few hours plus have the tools to refilt the tranny with atf I'd say let the pros have it. The major portion of the cost is in parts.

I'd talk to the 5 star folks and just take the parts to a lincoln dealer and have them do the work.
