Hard shift from 1st to 2nd

Had some misfire issues on a real cold morning. Then the car went into limp home mode. Turned the key on and off 5 times. Fixed the misfire issues (plugs and coils). The only issue now is that ever since then, the tranny shifts really hard from 1st to 2nd and kind of bumbles through 2nd to 4th. There were no issues with the tranny before then. It will shift fine from 1st to 2nd if I let off of the gas before the shift, like driving a manual transmission. The guy at the transmission shop checked for codes (none) and without any physical check, told me I need a new PCM. Any advice before I dive into some large repair bills? Thanks

Since you did the coils did you reset? You should disconnect the battery for a few minutes and then drive the car so that it can re-learn the driving process without misfires. Also, the LS notoriously has a harsh shift from 1st to 2nd. Its the 2nd through 4th I'd be more concerned about.

Yes the battery was disconnected for quite a while as I totally redid my stereo system. It shifts so hard on normal acceleration that the tires light up for a second and it was perfect right before the limp home issue.

Sounds like a servo bore issue if 1-2 are harsh.
