and I was debating on whether I should mod it or not.... I've had some pretty formidable kills in the past year and the sleeper aspect is really getting to me

Bonneville GXP
Trailblazer SS
97 540i
330i
Grand Prix GTP

my friends 2004 basic bolt on 2V mustang was closer than I thought too
0-70 I had a 1/2 a car on him due to launch issues on his manual
40-120 he had maybe a car or two

what really was the deciding factor in me modding it though... I took it to the local track and hotlapped it a couple times in 90F weather with 100% humidity and my top time was the 1st run with the semi cool engine running 14.7 @ 97MPH with a 2.4 short time... this was completely stock down to the tires with a removed spare

and seeing rockets videos I really love how suprising the car could be with just a few bolt on's

if you guys have any stock or modded 2nd gen times please share, also the tuner I would be going through is leary on a 100 shot of zex worked into a window switch and says it might not be safe... thoughts?

any help is appreciated on what mods help the most on the 2nd gen... and tuning tips with the nitrous would be helpful

Here are mods I have on my 04 LS in order of best performance improvement.

1. SCT XCAL2 Tuner torrie@fastpartsnetwork carries them and has most of the LS business on this website for that item.

2. Get a K&N Typhoon intake made for the 03+ Ford Thunderbird.

3. I would say a custom Magnaflow exhaust but that is mainly for sound on this car. The stock LS exhaust is very free flowing. This mod does sound awesome on a 03+ at full throttle.

4. Get some decent wider tires for your launch. I have a set of light weight Jag S-Type R wheels with 285's on the back and can brake launch pretty hard. (just put 265 snow tires on those wheels for the winter)

With these mods you will get closer to 14.2 in the 1/4

I'm not into performance with the LS much at all but I would agree.

Also, post some of these questions on the LS performance page. There is some discussion going on there right now so you would probably get better responses, usually no one posts there but there is a good topic right now.
