I went to the junkyard today to get one thing. so much for that idea. lol.

The following was from a 98ish continental

"intech 32 valve" plug wire cover
2 key fobs
2 door handles (same color as my car too!)
5 ft of 0 gauge wire for my stereo
2 engine beauty cover hold down nuts
4 Chrome door lock dealies (I have no idea what they are called)
Chrome fuel door release button
Chrome trunk release button
Spare tire hold down rod and nut

All for $20.

Alot of the stuff is just in case, but for $20, I might bo back and buy more.

The thing that suprised me was there was only 1 late model lincoln in the whole place. everything was older. I thought there might be some Vics in there but nope, not a 1. A couple of older GMQ's though. Great day at the junkyard. First time I have ever been to a U-pick type place, But definately not the last.

Good finds, I have yet to see any 97 or 98 Marks in any of the yards I`ve been to and I need the little plastic pieces that go in the ends of the neon tail lamp.AAARRRGGGGHHHH!

last one i went to was LQK over in clearwater i found a 93 mark shoved way down back and it had a perfect pass door handle, a good condition grille, the trunk light panel, and the gas and trunk door poppers, and the auto dim drivers mirror all for $35 bucks. that was a suprise! i did find 2 more in another yard, a D.J green 93 and a toreador red 96 but both were pretty much stripped already! i would have taken the green door handles but the car was 3 stories up on a huge rack this junk yard was way to organized and clean to be a junk yard lol. i wasnt gonna climb up that high to remove the handles.

I can find 93 to 96`s all day long around here. They just don`t have the piddly little things that I want.

There is a junk yard in St Louis that has two or three gen 2 marks. I bought my rear bumper cover there for $50.00. I will check to see if I still have the reciept and let you know the name...

I assume you are from the Granite City by St Louis.

They are starting to get a few more marks in the pic a part here. Mostly gen 1's but every now & then you will see a gen2. If you find them in time you can get very lucky!

You are correct. I am from the right side of the river! People from Missouri usually get peeved at me when I say that.

Every Mark that I've seen in a yard around here is so beat by the time it gets here there isn't anything worth taking....

thats how i ship mine off to the yard lol, a shell, cant really find much left on a shell, maybe a roof and some rear quarters.

"Didn`t you have a section of roof in your shop?"
yes i still do, the back window is still urethaned into it and i needed it out fast so i sawed the roof and quarters off all around the window!

"Why don't you just take them to the recyclers and get scrap money for them Jamie?"
because steel scrap is at 1 cent per lb i wouldnt think twice about wasting my time and fuel to deliver a shell for 6 bucks lol. my buddy just scrapped an eclipse it weighed 1760 lbs he got $17.60 for the car. my tow truck driver takes them back after im done and he keeps the scrap money instead of charging me to haul them away. if steel was worth a buck or so i would do it, but its not even remotely worth it to me for a penny a lb.

I see... I figured you would have a truck and trailer and would take care of that stuff yourself...

At the end of this summer scrap was huge, now its nothing... it really isn't worth hauling cars unless you haul 2-6 at a time anyways. I can do 2 at a time on my little trailer stacking them 2 high. My scrapper friend can do 6 at a time, but he has got a fifth wheel set up.
