granatelli coils

My friend has a set of granatelli coils for his 4.6 mustang that have never been used that I could have for cheap. Now from what I have read these will fit my 3.9. My question to you all is are they worth putting in? Because these are a "high performance" parts are they going to wear faster, and will I notice any actual gains in hp or mpg?

They will fit with modification. Polarity has to be reversed and you need to use adapters to secure them. Also they won't clear the coil covers and will remain exposed.

And I don't see how a coil can be high performance. All it does it work with the spark plug to create spark. Just like high performance spark plugs seem like a waste to me when the factory plugs ate rated for 100k miles.

I still think an adaptor/spacer could be made so the covers could still be used.
