If every one here could do me a favor and proof read all there post before you hit the submit button.

I'm not trying to be an ass, but it has been getting worse lately.

I admit I make mistakes too but just use Microsoft Word to copy and past before you send it.

It would just make it a little easier to read and understand if some post where in English. It doesn't have to be perfect as long as it makes sense.

Thanks:)

Come on. How do you make a post about grammar with three mistakes in it?

1/2 the time I post it's after a looong night, and I'm bone tired. Like now, and if there's a typo/grammatical error, I won't be offended if it's brought to my attention so I can fix it :).

Otherwise - bite me :D!

u hicks couldnt even speak proper english. your "proper grammer" on the keyboard hides your rednecks ways.

I'm just saying, write some thing legible, some guys right stuff and it's hard to figure out what they said. I told you guys I wasn't an English major. Sorry, I will just keep it to my self then.

My biggest pet peeve for some reason is "ect" when the abbreviation is to be "etc." for the word "etcetera" not "ectetera" maybe it's 'cause I think of the complete word when I read an abbreviation., when I see "ect" I'm like "what the f is that" for a milli second, then I think "sheesh, some people shouldn't use abbrev's for words they don't even know in the first place! :D

Holy grammar errors batman!

I use Mozilla Firefox web browser, it has a built in spellcheck function and I would recommend that everyone use it over IE. In fact it just underlined the word spellcheck, because it's not one word.

i dont think i've laughed this hard in a while...

as soon as i read the thread title i knew you guys would jump all over it

My oldest daughter for one of her jobs while attending graduate school was professor's assistant. So basically she got to correct papers. She said that she couldn’t believe how many student use cell phone text acronyms in their writings and final drafts, and then complain when she would correct the error. Also due to texting she noticed that students do not punctuate or capitalize words when needed. Her feeling is they are becoming lazy.

Grammar is an issue and maybe a dying art. As for me here on LvC I understand some of the misspelled words and errors that some make as they post and it does not offend me. I cannot complain I make my fair share of mistakes, and I’m a 6th grade teacher (Science is the subject area not English). I understand that sometimes you are trying to throw in a quick post in passing, and you don’t have time to proof your writing (Yes Joey I know it looks like I have all the time in the world and I’m on 24-7).

Grammar and spelling issues have come up many times on the board. I don’t believe it’s a sign of stupidity, more a sign of laziness or lack of time. If only one knew how bad they look when they use poor grammar, especially when they are trying to argue a point.

It's obvious that a spell checker isn't always right. Many times it chooses the wrong word.

Like in the previous post: right vs. write.

Gosh, I hope I didn't spell anything wrong (I hope I got that write).:D

What a "hoot!" This is a fun thread.

There are several add-in spell checkers for IE as well. Of course, I don't use one as I agonize over each keystroke thinking "it could be my last."

Nice quote, Isaiah. That was a classic routine. :)

god damnit, now were giong to have a competition to see who can right the best come backs with the least amount of grammar errors...
