Those look like some well loved tools! I noticed that you've chose homemade handles vs the wood or fiberglass type. I guess that's because you got tired of breaking handles while splitting.

Big old tie rod off a 79 chevy 4x4. And yes this is my fall and winter workout. I've snapped every handle you can imagine including one of the tie rods.

And if you have a splitter you'd like to donate bring it to Kansas city. Other then that I can't afford to rent one and if it breaks I'm really beat when I have to pay to fix it.

Well me and my son got through a little under half of it. He split one of those stumps all by himself. Into eight pieces. He's 8 by the way.
