i have that same issue, i dont know what would make it not bootleg, maybe some type of black tape? hahaha i know exactly what your saying, like these glass werent meant for tint

I've seen it done on a couple cars, it looks good, I didn't do it to mine, I don't have to may bumps, plus i can't see it from the front :P

Mine is the same. It is just the texture of those bumps, tint will not stick to it.

on my 01 i dont have that problem but i did with a previous car, what i did is poke little holes in diffrent areas and then just used a card or plastic scraper and pushed out all the air and it got out about 95% of it.

I would cut it off and rather than spray I would roll on some latex black house paint that way it can be pealed off easy rather than scraped.

i had the same thing happen with the back hatch on my escape. i just used some electrical tape over the edge of the tint and got it flush under the panel. you couldnt even tell unless you were looking for it

Any good tint guy should have taken care of that for you. If you are paying to have it done they should do it right, mine is fine and no complaints.

i usually reccomend taping off the piece of glass and painting it before you take it in to get tinted, no matter how good of a job the tinter does, it is damn near impossible to get the tint to stick, the little black dots are to thick and there is not enough space in between them for the tint to conform around them and still adhear to the glass. i have seen a ton of cars where it looked good just after it was done but after a year or so it pops back up and lets air back under the edge, just be glad that the LS doesnt have a 7 inch strip of the dots like some mustangs or the new fusion does, my sister just got a 2010 fusion sport and had the windows tinted and it looked great until after about a month then the little bubbles started to pop back up. so we took a razor to the edge and cut off the tint where the dots where, tapped everything off (and i do mean everything) and hit all the sections with a little black rattle can and now it looks perfect, there isnt even a 1mm line around the edge like with most tinted windows, just solid black, like factory tinted windows. now if there was only some way to hide the defroster grid which is slightly red.

so say, that they tinted over the little bumps, but the tint obviously doesnt stick flush against there. Do I cut the tint then paint the bumps? or just paint over?
