It finally happened. Someone in my apartment complex backed into my front bumper. I'll have the pictures and story up here soon. Anyone know a good body shop in Knoxville?

Jesus, what's going on here lately? :(

I narrowly avoided a pretty serious head on collision yesterday morning myself. God damn moron New York City drivers.

Good luck with everything, man. Ken might know someone..

Is it a full moon? I have had several close ones per day, over the last several days.

Okay so here is the full story:

As I was leaving to go run some errands, I can up and saw a note under my windshield wipers. On it was an apology and a phone number. So I called the guy and we are meeting later tonight to swap insurance information. The bumper will definitely have to be replaced (With an LSE bumper of course) but the headlight will be able to stay. I think the hood might have to be replaced. If you look in the last two picutres, the bumper buckled up which caused the piece of hood surrounding the grill to buckle up very slightly. I estimate at least $2000 in damages. Here come the pictures so take a breath.

As you can see the bumper is torn there but the reflector seems alright for whatever reason.

This is where the bumper buckled up and bent the grill surround. It will have to be repainted where those two pieces meet on the grill surround because there is chipped paint where they meet.

This is on the driver's side which was undamaged. Look at the gap between the grill and the surround

This is the damaged side. Look how off this gap is in relation to the undamaged side. I think the surround is bent and since it is a single piece with the hood, the whole hood has to be replaced. I'm going to bet that the other guy's insurance won't pay for it to be fixed since it is so slight.

Painful huh?

People suck, but this guy sucks a little bit less since he actually has a conscience and left you a note. Not every day that that happens.

They will have to pay for that hood I was backed into with less damage to my hood than that ( Icouldnt even tell it was bent)Only my grill and the chrome strip across the bumper was messed up. I took it to my local Lincoln dealer and they said that the hood would need to be replaced b/c its made of aluminum.I would take it to a Lincoln dealer that way you know its Lincoln parts and not crappy aftermarket.

That's of course assuming I even have a choice. If he has Company X auto insurance they may say I have only a small choice of body shops to go to. I would rather go to a dealer like Ted Russell or Neil Sandler. I have a couple good shops in Knoxville but we will see what they say.

Ask greyghost. He lives in Knoxville.:D

BTW That is BS that someone hit and drove away. They hit it hard enough. They HAD to of known they hit your car.

Thats true, but at least they didn't fully drive away and not leave him any information about the person who hit the car, maybe he/she didn't have enough time to wait for the person or something

I highly recommend Joe Neubert Collision in Knoxville. They have three locations and the closest one to you is on 5th avenue. The manager there is Craig and knows me personally. He will definitely take care of you. Tell him I sent you there.

While you are there tell him I still want to buy that BMW M3 he has. It's a freakin' sweet. I have been trying to get him to sell it to me for 3 years.

Also, since you have the LSE front fascia it is going to be hard for them to find one. They might find one used but insist they locate one. If not, they will have to put the regular LS front fascia on the car. If he has issues locating one tell Craig to call me.

We both have GEICO and they took care of us. Accident is billed on his insurance so my rates will not go up. Apparently I get a choice of rental car so I've already started looking at which one I'm going to pick (It would be so cool to get a GT-H, even though the insurance won't cover it) and I'll probably take Ken's suggestion.
