So after doing my homework here and on markviii.org I have found a nice 98 CE that is for sale locally. Owner is a enthusiast and has multiple Mark 8s. This one in particular is a loaded CE pear paint, heated seats, sunroof etc..

all maintaince done like blend door, trans flush, hids work, neon works air ride has been serviced.

has a few minor paint chips, dings small 1 inch rust bubble on lower end of car, interior has wear on drivers seat and steering wheel.

89k miles needs no work done right now, clean carfax and title.

How much do you think It's worth, or what is the max I should pay? asking 5k

I personally would offer 4500. But only because i want a CE.

It all depends on your personal preference. Do you REALLY want a CE or just a mark viii, you could easily find an LSC for $3500 or cheaper with similar miles.

Hope that helps

These cars are great and worth every penny to us enthusiasts but to the general public for resale, maybe not so much.

I would offer the same.

Btw, he is no real mark viii enthusiest if hes not a member here.

Well he has one that runs low 12s, if that is not an enthusiest than what is:p

I'd pick the cost to repair 1 of the 2 known issues and deduct that from his asking price.
Tell him how you came to your price, and he should see that you are fair and honest.

either the cost to repair the rust area or the cost to replace the steering wheel.

the steering wheel is about a 500 dollar bargaining chip.

if he's asking 5K
take 4500.00 cash with you....SHOW HIM THE MONEY
I'll bet he takes it.

I would start at $4k and work your way up... sounds like it is in very similar condition to mine with 10k less miles.... I paid $4k

he's prob reading this i bet....lol.... if he's asking 5 he'll take 4250. theres always a $500 bargaining tool.if he wants it gone he'll work with u. between 4250 and 4500. its a semi rare car but its a 10yr old lincoln and the economy is sh!t. (but getting better finally)

Edmunds and KBB are around $4100-4300 in good cond. Thanks for the help, never owned one so I might as well ask people who are around them 24/7:)

i hope you get it for a good price if u decide to purchase it. Let us know. i'm local so if you need help fixing it let me know. I'll work for a 12 pack. lol.

Whats $500 more...If you fall in love with it buy it.

But dont think your done spending money.....Every time I turn around I am dumping money into this car.

my bad i thought he just touched 11 that one time and he was flat 12's. must of been flat 11's and touched the 10's
