Goin to the track

I know its just a LINCOLN LS. Which is why I bought an '89 Camaro to feed my need for speed. I just hate spending $1500 for performanc upgrades for basically nothing. I know adding things to your car is fun and all, but it really helps when it pays off, and sucks when it doesnt....
I have been trying to get people to not waste their money since i have been on here and have caught all kinds of hell for doing so. I thank you for taking your LS to the track and exposing these products for what they are....waste of money. What really irritates me is i am sure 99.9% of the people on here DONT have the money to spend on this stuff but certain people still post bogus claims to get $$$$. There was recently a story on the news where they took a bunch of "performance" upgrades, intakes....fuel magnets....tornado thing....gas additives. They ALL turned out to be junk and MOST actually decreased power and fuel economy. This was tested at a technical school with a dyno, so they tested hp claims, fuel economy, all of it. Lesson learned, dont believe what you hear, especially when someone has their own $$$ involved.

Zip it "FLA02LS" :D

You have to realize one thing it's not waste a money to some people... that is what HOT RODDING is all about, modifing what you have to make it go faster or quicker. If we all chose to do nothing some aftemarket products would never have been born. I will admit some do nothing, but others do.

It is cool to STATE your opinion on forums, but IMPOSING it, on other is crossing the line.

I am not bashing HOT RODDING. Kids wanting to go fast to race an Acura isnt HOT RODDING. Now i am not sure but i'd be willing to bet 99.999999% of the LS owners dont go to a track and do any kind legit racing and arent involved in what you would consider HOT RODDING. I am bashing bogus claims on products, ie TORNADO. And going by your own definition of HOT RODDING then this guy wasnt HOT RODDING because he wasnt going faster due to his "products". I owned two f-body's and those where fun to work on and i would consider HOT RODDING. In fact, i still have tons of old Car Craft and Hot Rod magazines from way back when. I understand the concept and benefit of aftermarket products, but for the LS there isnt one for a reason. You just admitted that some products do nothing, and for a LS that stands the case. He just proved it with $1500 worth of "products".

You have got to be kidding, no comments when a GenII LS runs 14.3 on only 2 mods. I ran 15.041 on 20s which are suppose to slow me down with only 2 mods in my 02. But Stinckin can't stick a 60' and lord knows how he was stifting it, and right away the mods don't work. Several bone stock 00-02s have ran 15.3s, he didn't have a good night and possibly other problems. Comparing crap like a tornado to a well made intake is ignorant. Cat-backs have been dynoed to work for years, not just by the manufacturers either. I think people who expect more than a mod is going to give are the unhappy ones. If .2 for $300 is in your opinion a waste of money, save your money, many feel its worth it. I think my LSK intake and cat-back was just what my 02 needed to run with a 03up, thats why I bought them. They work as good as I expected, they definately work.

I feel like a broken record.

To each his own.

And yes I like to waste money if that helps any.

Umm never said you were bashing.... and Hot Rodding, can be with anby car. If a guy (or kid) wants to mod his Acura so be it. It is his choice, honestly whether I agree with it or not (trust me I will speak my mind).

I have seen few dozen modded Toyota Supra's (w/minor Mods).. stomp a few F-Bodys :N

I believe there is right way to mod a particular car and then there is buying every bolt on know to man to make it faster.. I choose to research and learning the car (not just reading) and then try to squeeze out every once of speed or HP I can from it.
