Skidsmint, if you arent concerned about the cash it sounds like a good logic. Dont be deterred, some people just have opinions. We are all human but make sure you post it up in the official video clip thread so others can reference it easily.

So I ended up and took out the resonators all together and installed an X pipe to replace the H pipe. That gave it the perfect sound that I was looking for! No interior drone what so ever and a nice healthy growl without going overboard. It has a unique sound completely different from an H pipe. I'll get a video up one of these days.

Nice. I can't wait for the vid. So its not too loud? I took the resonators off when I first put in the flows and its was too loud and when I gave it more throttle it sounded like it rattled a bit, I didn't like it. What X pipe did you go with?

So I actually got pretty lucky. I took my car in a few weeks ago to have the resonators replaced with the Cherrybombs. The exhaust tech cut off the originals and compared them to the Cherrybombs and said that the glasspacks wouldn't make much sound difference at all because they both have a perforated straight through tube. The only difference is that the Cherrybomb has a 3.5" case compared to the 4" of the stock resonator so I decided to have them weld in a piece of tubing instead. I drove it for a couple of weeks and couldn't stand the loud rattleing and pinging noise at 2k so since I threw away the stock resonators, I was going to have them weld in the Cherrybombs. I have been researching X pipes and have heard that they change the exhaust tune a little bit, so I had them take off the stock H pipe and put in a 2 1/4" Magnaflow Tru-X crossover part #10790. In doing that it completely took out the loud pinging noise and actually made the car a lot more quiet. Before the X pipe was installed it sounded similar to a Mustang but I decided that I didn't want that sound anymore. Since installing the X pipe the tone is a lot different, it is higher pitched almost like an exotic so if you are looking for a really deep Mustang sound then I wouldn't install an X pipe. The only way I can describe it is pure sex! It has an animalistic growl I guess you could say. It has a similar tone to a Maserati, I'm not saying that it sounds exactly like a Maserati because no American V8 would ever sound like a flatplane Italian car but it's similar in that it's a higher pitched tone. Watch this Maserati at 25 seconds to give you a better idea of the tone.

Danm thats f***ing awesome. Thats turismos is a beast. My friend's dad has a quattroporte and his was looking at the turismo and wanted to trade in the quatt. for it.



I was thinking putting an x pipe and slp resonators. If I had that machine to make the pipes larger at the tips to fit into each other I would try various set ups to get it right.Just have the flows with slp resonators and see how that sounds compared to the stock resonators, then go only X pipe with flows and no resonators, then do flows X piepe and slp resonators. I think I might just do the x pipe flows, then if its too loud I try the slp's on it.

I think you would probably like just the X and Flows because I think has a good balance of throatiness and loudness. I have the Delta stainless steel 40's. After hearing the X there's really no comparison between the stock H at all in my opinion.
