at this point, might be easier to cut the handle out from the outside and weld, bondo, prime and paint it back in once your done lol...

I did have one of those moments, once I got it off I see how it works, got lucky All I had to do was adjust the clip a little higher on rod and it works like a charm, but was a chore not knowing anything about these car, now I'm a pro, at least on getting the panel off with the car door locked Thanks to everyone, this forum is great, I also have a jeep and I belong to a forum & this is just as good....
