Is it possible to have stainless laser cut like you had done on the emblems, for a "grille cover"? I'd pay $200 or so, it'd be a good fix for this plasti-chrome junk.

The Grille would need a bit of work after the stainless was laid over, to fill the sharp edges from the stainless to the plastic, but that's no biggie. I'm sick of these plastic jobbers going to hell every two years.

i had a guy give me a price on machining me and sportier version of an exact copy of our grill in aluminum ... light weight one piece with mesh...

and a quote to do one in plastic so it could painted easily and thinking it would be cheaper than aluminum.. ;)

lets just say i could buy another mark viii for less.. $1200-1800 each !!

I was tossing around custom grille ideas and could make a laser cut stainless one for around $300, +-$50.

For one-off that's not bad, imagine the price cut if they produced 10 or 20 with the program. The program's 90 percent of the work. .. doubt this'll happen anyways, just a thought.

My design was extremely simple. It was more of an overlay that covered the existing grille, custom work is not cheap.
