Hey fellas,

So my passenger side headlight quit working yesterday (low beam). I went to the store and bought some new halogen bulbs. Anyhow, when I arrived at home and finished removing the headlight assembly I found a crappy issue. Upon removing the lowbeam cover/seal, I disconnected the wiring harness from the bulb. I came to find that the bulb itself is good. The male wiring harness (the clip that's attached to the headlight assembly) is black/white charred and some of the plastic was melted. Some sort of electrical malfunction.

I cleaned the connector up and put a glob of DE grease on it, and plugged it back in. Brought the headlight back to the car and plugged it in. Headlight lowbeam works again. I get it all reinstalled and head back to return the bulbs I bought. As I pull into parking lot, I verify that the light is still working via the stores window reflection. I return the bulbs and I go back to my car. Start it up, turn the lights on and the lowbeam is out again.

So it's obvious I need a new male harness clip for the H11 style headlight bulb. Is this something that is universal and I can order and just wire in? Or can I find an H11 bulb clip at the junkyard off any car that uses H11 headlamps and use that? I just hope I don't need to purchase a new headlight assembly over this minor issue.

Thanks in a advance for the input, hope this is cheap. God bless

Most of the auto parts stores around here sell bulb harnesses. I bought them to do Mr. Howie's high beam bulb in low beam socket mod. The harness was for a 9005 bulb but they had several different ones.

Ahhh I see. I'll go check it out after work, thanks
