Generation division

If i am not mistaking, those guys (consumer reports) were on the Jag forums a little while back trying to collect and post data on the XFs. I am sure they have other avenues for reaching their customers, but i personally never let the quantitative data analysis bs direct my decisions.

Jaguar came out at the bottom of list on the JD Powers last year, just because there was a recall on the gear selector. They changed out the defective part, now it's at the top of the list. As long as they hold up, their reputation and the qulity study results will be no different 5 years down the road.

You also have to ask yourself, who is the audience giving the reviews for these vehicles? It plays a major part. For instance, if sombody twice our age goes buys a M5 BMW and complains about the ride quality, that's going to make onto one of the reports. But, if you drove it, you might find the ride quality just fine. So, how accurate are those reports if you are the buyer?

No car is going to be perfect regardless of it's make.
