Gen2 to Gen1 parts interchangeably?

I have a chance to purchase a gen2 mark8 parts car, will the front clip fit on a gen1? Also besides drive train what parts would I be able to use ?

You can swap fronts, a few have done it before. I dont *think* any modifications were needed, just swapping the bulk of the metal work. You could also swap most of the interior if you wanted.

most people do gen 1 nose on the gen 2.
im pretty sure the hood latch is different.
the swapped car i saw had the latch moved and re welded.
