Gen2 speedo from ABS or trans VSS?

Now I could care less about this since its Gen2 stuff. But I would like to get my brain str8 on this. I have read both ways. Speedo runs off front wheel speed sensor and then NO it does not it used trans VSS. Please lets end this!!!

In my experience PCM gets speed from trans mounted vss eg: shift points etc

Abs system and wheel speed sensors control vehicle speedo, I had a faulty abs unit on my 98 lsc and had no speedo or odometer

speedo gear for shift points, lowering, and stuff. the computer reads it.

the abs sensor are used to read wheel speed to run the abs system and the speedometer.
like he said, a dead speedo is a sign of an abs problem.
