Are they the same for the Gen1 and the Gen2? Looking at taking the LSC moldings from my 97 and keeping them for the 96.

If they are the same, how much fun are they to remove? Any recommendations on tools and instructions.

Thanks all!

Yep they are the same, use some fishing line and get behind them and slowly seperated the glue, use a razer blade and carefully run it behind the moulding to cut the adhesive to make it easier to peel off..don't pry too much as they are fairly brittle and will crack. There are also small alignment pegs that are part of the moulding that fit into small holes in the door that you don't want to break off FYI.

I haven't removed my moldings on neither one of my cars because I'm scared on ruining them. The donor car I took the Collector's Edition moldings off of ended up scratched along the top of the moldings. I removed them with a blade. Fast? Yes but not too clean.

Yeah, the buyer of my car is allowing me to remove some pieces and keep them since he is just after the motor and transmission. So, I was thinking about keeping them to go back on the 96 some day.

take a putty knife and a heat gun and they will peel right off you dont really need the alignment tabs nut if you can save them go for it.

I haven't tried the fishing line. Piano/aircraft wire on windows as well as some molding.
I've got a wedge you can trim/shape for trim removal, works good on emblems as well.
Tap it with a light weight body hammer or you can use it in an air hammer.
