Just lookin to see what brand fluids other Gen I LS'ers are using. Seeing as how you can only get out what you put in.

1. 50/50 coolant
2. Oil
3. Additives
4. Misc. other

I have only had my LS for about a month and the only thing that I have changed out so far is the oil, and I am using CenPeCo full synthetic.
 
I've had my 2002 V8 LSE since December 2002. Got it new with 12 miles on it. During the first 50k, I used motorcraft filters and Walmart SuperTech 5w-30 full synth. Oil and filter changes every 5k. Beyond that, I use whatever filters are on sale now..either Motorcraft or Fram, and the same SuperTech oil but intervals are now every 10k miles. I currently have 113k miles and engine still pulls as strong as the day I got it. Burns maybe 1 quart every 10k. No smoke.
 
I've done 1 oil change so far, used mobil 1 synthetic then, but I'll be switching to royal purple 5w30 next weekend when I do an oil change. the advance auto near me FINALLY has it in stock. I also use a motorcraft filter.

I use seafoam in my tank every once in a while too to clean out the lines/injectors, and I'm gonna run some through the crankcase monday so it can clean it out before I change my oil on the weekend. might run it through a vacuum line too to scare the neighbors and clean out the intake :p

I've never used ANY additives in my LS and the fuel system, engine..runs perfectly fine at 113k miles. I run premium fuel, change the fuel filter at 50k, currently have Bosch 4 prong platinums, replaced all the ignition coils, use a factory air filter every 30k. and thats it. The engine starts and runs flawlessly.
 
For my 2001 LS (RIP)

1. 50/50 coolant : Whatever the dealer put in there.
2. Oil : Mobil 1 synthetic - 0W30 in winter, 5W30 in summer both with Purolator PureONE oil filters
3. Additives : Occasional SeaFoam in gas tank
4. Misc. other : Valvoline synthetic ATF, Valvoline Synpower / ATE Super Blue brake and RainX wiper fluid.

Probably the same for my new 06 (albeit with 0W20 and 5W20 instead)
 
I have an 01 V8 sport that I bought in 05 and started using Royal Purple since then. Just converted over to Amsoil back in April of this year.
 
1. 50/50 coolant : Have not had mine long enough to change this yet...
2. Oil : Motorcraft 5W-20 year round, MC filter if I can find one at the store, otherwise NAPA Select.
3. Additives : Seafoam will go in today, I'm sure my fuel filter is gettnig jammed up, this will be a temp fix until I can get the time to replace it
4. Misc. other : Prestone washer fluid
 
Mobile 1 5W-20 extended life oil been changing it every 12000 miles for the last 245000 miles and she still hums along without any ticking, run redline in the rear diff and whatever the dealer puts in the trans

Whoa! 245,000 / 245k miles? :eek: Dayum! I thought that my 01Sport had a lot of miles (180k).
