Alright, so I never really got to find out if my ac was ever working, knew the heater was, but it stopped. Anyhow, when I got the car, had a bad clutch pulley, disconnected the ac lines, (yes I know I didn't I have to, but didn't know at the time) installed new clutch, no freon so, pulled the vacuum and everything at work, gave her 2 and a half cans, clutch never engaged. Come home, take the clutch off, take one shim out, engages, but turns on and off, on and off, stays on at most for 30 seconds, then on and off over and over. Bleed the high pressure line, freon is warm? Not cold like it should be? Shouldn't it always be cold when coming out? Anyhow, bleed it down to about 10 psi, installed two more cans, but I am at home, and my little a/c hookup would only fit on the dryer, so I install two cans through there, same result. On and off, over and over. Take it for a drive, and you can feel when the clutch engages and disengages. Add another shim, clutch never engages, seems like I can't get the shims right. Come home, bleed the high pressure line again, but only a little until the freon comes out, still warm. So I just left it alone. Any idea what could be wrong? Would a bad blend door cause this? Probably will add another shim, but a smaller one, and hopefully it will catch, and stay on. Should I go ahead and pull the vacuum again at work? Could never tell if it was leaking either.
