Gen 2 Magnaflow system questions...

Hey all-
Whats the deal with the 2nd Gen Magnaflows. Everyone that has them says "custom" system. Is there not a magnaflow system for the 2nd Gen, and you must modify the Gen 1 system, therefore making it custom? I can't really find any answers to this.

Lastly is it worth it???

If you want a nice rumble, yes! If you are purely going for performance, you may get some gains but there are probably better hp/$ items you can get first (like an Xcal...)

As for the customness, there is no gen II magnaflow kit. If you want a full cat-back you gotta pick out some mufflers and tips and have a shop bend some pipe for you. Or simply throw on new mufflers and tips and leave the stock piping, which is what some people (like me) have done.

I'm just trying to get an idea of pricing for this. If I just went with mufflers and tips, what mufflers would I need? The same ones from the G1 set-up. Is there a real drawback to not doing all the piping from the cats back? I checked their website but with no luck.
New tips I could get no problem...

I guess the advantage of new piping is they might do smoother bends, you can get a slightly larger pipe diameter if you want, and it looks nice.

If you're just doing muffler swap, I got Magnaflow center-in offset-out 2.25" (forgot the model #). A competent muffler shop can make most any muffler fit, but look for center-in offset out is best for the stock setup, I think.
