I've searched in all areas of online parts catalogs and I can't seem to find the number for the door panel light bulb in the gen 2. The cylindrical bulb is held in tabs that have printed on them "1544" and i've searched 544 154 for a bulb type and can't find it. Anyone know the number?

Never mind

I don't however know the part#, I even took mine out to look for you, broke mine in the process :(

I think that's what the 906 bulb in the map/dome light looks like. I ordered an LED board that comes with three adapters. The only question is whether or not they'll fit in the space. Those look like 36mm (6411, 6413, 6418). Wonder why they're not in the manual?

**** man was it the light bulb you broke or the housing? 906 is a regular type bulb, these are cylindrical. I'm not sure if these: http://www.amazon.com/Jtech-18x3528...9?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1349484016&sr=1-29 would fit. They defiantly look different and I can't tell if they are the right size. These are however the closest thing i've found that might work. My bulbs even looks slightly different than sapperfire's. But i guess anything with a semi similar structure might work.

semi similar structure :D

You could have some of the incorrect ones that I ordered... dammit!! :p

Depending on the color you are looking for, I have ordered some little LED clusters that come with adjustable adapters that range from 30-41mm. I think Sapps look different because they are a newer LED festoon. The ones you found on Amazon look like the right size. I just went out and measured mine - 1.5".

Then again, it seems like I'm completely talking out my butt in this thread, so good luck! I hope we both end up with something that'll work. :)

Yeah. If I find something that works I will update it. For now i'm changing my 93 with all led lights. Just a tip. I replaced them with these: http://www.amazon.com/Jtech-5-SMD-W..._2?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1349469450&sr=1-2 Great value. They look just as bright as the halogen and they spread nicely. For anyone that may be looking for a good deal. If you do buy them make sure you attach them correctly as they are directional.

I have those in my 98, glove box too, I left my map lights halogen but they are strictly on the switch command
I pulled the capasitor loose from the board, the way its made I can't solder it back with the sleeve

These look worth a try

I doubt the ones with the huge panel would fit, but if you didn't mind carving up the housing-i bet they'd be bright! Those might actually work in the puddle lamps

To be honest I wouldn't want the lights to be brighter than they are now. They are already a tad bright at night. I still want soft lighting but with white lights. I defiantly will be replacing the puddle lamps too when I get to that step. They also sell brake lamp lights if you are ready to put in a resistor and another 15 for the bulb...i'll go down that road when my lights actually blow or I have time. But a led setup would look nice with original housing. I personally don't like the custom housing where you can see the individual leds but in person they might look nice. They also sell these: http://www.amazon.com/Jtech-6x5050-...2?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1349541818&sr=1-12 if those don't fit. They have a couple different kinds.
EDIT: How does the puddle lamp cover come off. I see the two slits and tried pushing on them but it didn't budge and i heard creaking. Do i have to worry about it cracking?

The safest way is to pop the glass out, remove the torx screws, pull the trim off, and release the giant clip inside the housing holding the light assembly in.

Just an update with led lights. Thank god i went with the 5 led omni directional bulbs. Any brighter would make it seem too much. The camera does make the brightness seem aggressive compared to in person. I wish I had taken before pictures because they seem exactly like the halogen(in terms of brightness and spread) except they are white with a tint of blue. Car needs cleaning but here are the results if you are thinking about led lights. I tried these on my gen 2 and they do dim out just like the halogens. The last picture is with dome lights. Not bad for a 10 dollar "upgrade".

Really nice looking! I ordered purple ones. :p At least if they really look retarded, it's not permanent!

Purple LED's are.. well.. very purple! I can't remember if your interior is black from the pictures but if so it will seem like it soaks up a lot of light with purple LEDs. You should have next to zero glare on the glass at night.with them.

Wow, I've got the 9 omni bulbs, and mine don't seem that bright, i haven't seen any of my new lighting at night yet

The ones I have coming are described as "pinkish purple" and not like the UV stoner purple. Ya, my interior is black. I may break my nose trying to get into the car. We'll see!!! :D I'll post pics when I get them installed. If it's too goofy, though, no pics!

I've got the 9 led fetsoon bulbs in my doors, they are plenty bright in the dark.
I used the 15 led and 12 led bulbs in Tue rest. They are very bright as well.

It also depends on the led (diode) they use. Some aren't very bright. If one diode only produces 30 lumens and another diode creates 100 lumens, it would make sense that 5 diodes can be brighter than 10. It just depends on the bulb and color. I got a 3157 9 led a long time ago (2005) and i'm pretty sure a home scented candle would had made a better tail light. I'm pretty happy about the bulbs because from my experience leds have been directional and tend to cone out light instead of spread... and in this case i've bought another pair to see where else they may look nice since i'm soo happy with them.

The 12 LED SMD panels I found worked out perfectly for my door lights and the color is spectacular!! They're very nice and bright and look pretty cool with my newly updated trim pieces. This was today's project, including installing my last door speaker, repairing the vinyl on the top of the door panel, recking my other stupid tiny triangle trim piece and installing two of my new LED panels. I LOVE my car!!!!!!!! :D

OMG! Talk about girling up a Mark VIII! OMG I hope my wife doesn't see these pictures since she's the one that drives the black Mark when she's not driving the truck!

Well, purple is my favorite color! :D In the black interior, I think it works pretty well. I'm happy! I do suggest you keep it from your wife though as it was a monumental PITA to replace the trim pieces. I bought spares of all the pieces and took my originals out in case I hate it later and also in case I ruined them trying to paint or otherwise change 'em. I was kinda past the wood trim though so this will do nicely. :p

I ditched the 9 bulb ones, they were all junk, I've got the 9 panel ones now
