Gen 1 vs gen 2 engine

Just wondering cause I have an extremely low Milage engine out of 95 and if engine ever started making noise or anything I wanted to know if this engine will work in my 98
 
To quickly answer that question, you should go to your local Lincoln or Ford Parts department. Have them look up the part number for both, and see if the part numbers are the same.
 
That's not always accurate Gregg, the relay for the air ride and the abs module are different numbers, same part...just as an example

I don't think greg said anything here worth disagreeing over, I do agree however. Part for part they can tell you if the crash sensors are the same part number. If it was a different component, the same would apply.
 
It's always worth a shot, Ive got my dealerships parts dept in my phone..lol

Just make sure you disconnect the battery before messing with crash sensors :-) I don't want to see pics of your poofed srs bags

lol obvisously but this isnt my first dance with airbags, we repair alot of salvage title vehicle and im always doing bags in mostly late model cars, 2006-up
