I have a 2002 Lincoln LSE that I want to swap out the PCM if I need to in the future. I found a 2000 lincoln and want to buy the PCM out of it, but then I started reading it has to be a match with the dash cluster. the donor car has the same package as mine but it's not a LSE nor is the PCM part number the same but I realized that the 3.9L motor and the SST transmission is the same and all other options on it except for the heated seats; which I don't have.

The real Question is has any one done a PCM and gauge cluster swap from a Donor Car into there car and have it work without having to have them both reprogramed?

Still won't work because your key(s) won't match the keys of the donor car.

Ignition keys married to cluster - Cluster married to PCM

All three must move as a set, or you must put the cluster into secure mode and set it to accept your keys. If you have the tool to do that, then you don't need to swap both the cluster and the PCM, just whichever one it is that you need.
