It's payday. I have 2 things I need to get taken care of ASAP. Can afford one or the other.

My front left upper ball joint is questionable. I know the cost of that and its not a complicated install, and I can get it aligned by NTB for free because i JUST paid them for an alignment the other day they will most likely take care of the camber on that wheel for free. So my total cost for that is roughly $140 DIY unless someone can point me to a cheaper control arm and joint assembly.

My right rear bearing is still toast. I have the new bearing, and axle nut. I am fairly confident I need a new axle shaft ($50) because the threads are insanely rusted away. NAPA will pop out and press the bearing for $26. I need some advice on what tools I'd need to rent and where I could find them. I think I need a puller to separate the hub from the bearing/knuckle, correct? Anything for the axle?

Lastly, I'm buying those fancy bushings for my sway bar, she is clunking away and driving me crazy. $20 fix though so I am not all too upset with that, just need to use some elbow grease lol.

Thanks a ton dudes, dunno what I'd do without this place ;)

Tasca has the left upper control arm for $105.42 shipped. I ordered both of mine from them for my 03 and was very pleased with the service and shipping.

Note: On the listing it states that it comes with the nut for the ball joint. This is not true, you'll have to also order the nut which should be an extra buck or two. And while you're at it also order the needed bolts and nuts to attach the control arm back on the car. DON"T reuse your old nuts and bolts you take off.

Good luck with the sway bar bushings. I just paid $88 to have mine changed, and to me that was well worth it!

Thanks a ton for that info. I probably would've reused them

From what I've read it shouldn't be too bad on mine being a Gen 1 sport, but I do need to get some of those ratcheting wrenches but it never hurts to have those anyways for future things. I am very patient with stuff like this so if it takes 6 hours and costs me no money for labor, so be it haha.

Not to thread jack, but I'm getting ready to do my shocks, do I need to replace the lower shock bolt and nut? Or is it safe to reuse those bolts? Any ideas where to go for new nuts and bolts if they do need to be replaced?

I'd say replace them and have the piece of mind that you know they're new. However, I have no idea if you can reuse them or not. I wouldn't cause they're old. Try your local dealer. It shouldn't be too much for them.

If they are bent, the threads are marred, or they are rounded off, they will need to ne replaced. If not, I wouldn't.
