So im getting settled in a new house and I was going to program the garage door opener on my visor to one of the garage doors..Well my side is a double high garage door and i do everything right in the programing and then i go to test it and the damn door just stays closed or it wont shut. Is it because of the height of the door and thats why it wont work? Or am i just missing a step when i program the door..?? Help-o please-o!!

garage door

hold 2 outside buttons for about 30 seconds till light blinks

step 2

hold transmitter button and button of choice for about 15 seconds till transmitter button led blinks, did mine yesterday

yep did all that and its blinks faster right away when i hold the remote up too it so i let go and then after its all the way up i press the Homelink button on the visor and the door doesnt go back down...

If you read the manual you should see a part where it says some garage door openers need to have a program type button pressed too. You should look for that on your opener.

That's right. It's because of the rolling security code. You have to program then car to be like the remote. You did that part. You also have to program the opener to accept your car as a valid remote. You didn't mention doing that.

joegr hit it. Almost all newer garage door openers utilize rolling codes. These can be put into "learning" or "test" mode. There's usually a button somewhere on the garage door opener to activate this. If the manual for the opener is lost, Google for the brand/model to figure out how to do this.

i guess ill have to borrow a 20 ft ladder from my dad and see if i cant see if theres a switch on the device, ha..thanks for the info!
