I was about to take my 1998 MK8 in for undercoating again. I was at a local CTC store & noticed the "permanent anti rust system' advertised in the store. It is an electric powered system, costs about $ 300.00 CD. I am not familar with this & wondered if any one has had experiences with it.I live in SW Ontario Canada

I think that devilchild's car has some type of a anti rust electronic gizmo on it. Maybe they work???? I don't have a clue though.

As a general comment I know our cars gett rusty but it seems that that occurs mostly on the exposed suspension and drive train items plus exhaust system components. When the car is taken of, to be sure wet leave and debris is cleared out of the body seams, I believe there aren't really many issues. I just don't see many Mark Vlll's running around with rusted out fenders rocker panels, or quarter panels. This probably can be attributed to FOMOCO using galvanized body panels and plastics.

I personally would pass on the anti rust unit and use that money for maintance. Just my $.02

you would be correct Turborich...

my car has some sort of anti corrosion module thing-a-majig..

not sure if it works ... ive never seen a mark with a big rust problem either

you've never seen my mark then devilchild haha. it sat for 2 years and one side of it completely got rusted because of the way the wet grass grew on it, i can put my entire hand in the area before the back tire on the passengers side, any idea how much it'll cost to fix when i decide to paint? im going to go to maaco because well its cheap, besides that i have some 1/4 of the car primed (previous owner was a body man)

ive seen those electronic anti rust things on cars that i needed a tetnus shot from just looking at them.

in other words i dont believe in them for a split second.
