Cadillac BLS: Bob Putz himself has said that the currently Europe-only BLS will come to America when it is redesigned. A wagon version may follow. The BLS will be based on the Epsilon II platform which will offer GM a variety of body styles and configurations. We could see the BLS on sale here in 2010.

Cadillac BRX: A premium Theta II-based small crossover could make its way into Cadillac’s lineup in the 2008 model year. Rumor has it that the BRX will be built in Mexico.

Cadillac CTS: Coupe, convertible, and wagon versions of the new CTS will arrive in 2009.

Cadillac CTS-V: We've already seen spy shots of the next CTS-V. What powertrain the CTS-V is actually sporting is still a mystery, but we speculate that it will have either a Supercharged DOHC V8, or an all new Small-Block V8. Nonetheless, it is a fact that the car will have over 500 HP.

Cadillac SRX: The SRX will be discontinued sometime around 2009-10. Cadillac is considering replacing it with a Lambda crossover.

-2010+

Cadillac Kappa: Caddy is planning a Kappa-based two-seater to compete with the likes of the BMW Z4. Expect is sometime in 2009.

Cadillac XTS: Cadillac will continue to work on its goal to become the leader in luxury by entering the ultra luxury car market. Known as the “ULS,” it will probably be built on the Sigma II platform. This was going to arrive sometime in 2008, but because of the current financial situation, the program is on the back burner. Although it's far from being confirmed, GM is working on a 7.5L DOHC V12 powertrain that Caddy will likely use. There is also a Turbocharged version of the V12 in the works.

BTW a Kappa is a SKY/Solstice

I think it will be a 300HP V6.

Future Product Guide

About: One thing is for sure, GM has a TON of exciting products coming out! Many people were upset about the delay of the Zeta platform cars, which were "thrown on the back-burner" to get the highly-profitable GMT-900 SUV's to market faster. Zeta may have been delayed, but it was NEVER cancelled. It is back on and going strong right now. It, along with Epsilon II are going to globalize GM product like it has never been before.

These are exciting, and rapidly changing times for GM. That being the case, we remind the audience to take what you read with a grain of salt....these are after all rumors.

Last Updated: August 9, 2007

-2008 Model-Year

-Buick-

Buick LaCrosse/Allure: In an attempt to add some buzz to the LaCrosse, GM will shoehorn the LS4 V8 into an Super model in late 2007. The 2008 model was minimally changed.

-Cadillac-

Cadillac CTS:
An all-new larger CTS is going to arrive in late 2007. It will be underpinned by GM’s new Sigma II platform and is said to be all-wheel drive capable. For more information, including photos, click here.

-Chevrolet-

Chevrolet Aveo: To complete the Aveo's redesign, the Aveo5 (hatchback) will get an all new look for the 2008 model-year. Expect the new sedan's face with a new hatch rear.

Chevrolet Malibu: The new 2008 Malibu has debuted! Click here for all the information and photos.

Chevrolet Trailblazer: The Trailblazer line will be phased out sometime after 2008.

-GMC-

GMC Envoy: Like the Trailblazer, all GMT-360 models are being phased out by 2008-9.

GMC Yukon: A two-mode hybrid version will come to market in November 2007 as a 2008 model.

GMC Sierra: Hybrid versions of the Sierra arrive in January 2008.

-Hummer-

Hummer H2:
The H2 will finally get an all-new interior for 2008.

Hummer H3T: Remember the H3T concept from a few years ago? That's becoming a reality. The truck will be a four-door vehicle with a truck bed.

-Pontiac-

Pontiac G8: Pontiac will import a G8 rear-wheel drive sedan based on the new Holden VE. We've been told that the G8 will basically be a four-door version of the GTO. Expect to see the G8 at the 2007 Chicago Auto Show, and it could be wearing a front end that is similar to the Solstice. It could arrive as early as the 2007 calendar year.

-Saturn-

Saturn Astra: Since GM is going to be building the Pontiac G5 (for the US) at it’s Cobalt plant (which is where the new Saturn small car was going to be built), GM is thinking about importing the Opel Astra premium small-car into the US for Saturn use. If this falls into place, the Astra could be on the US market as early as Fall 2007.

Saturn Vue: Just two short model years after the Vue received a slight freshening; an all-new Vue will arrive in 2008. Expect the new Vue to resemble the Opel Antara, but with a different interior. The 2008 Vue will launch in October 2007 with the ECOTEC 2.4L, ECOTEC 2.4L BAS Hybrid, 3.5L V6, and 3.6L HF V6. Click here for details and photos.

-2009 Model-Year

-Buick-

Buick CUV: Rumor has it that Buick will get a Theta II based small crossover. It will likely be built alongside the Cadillac BRX in Mexico.

Buick Enclave:
A Super model could show up in late 2008 as a 2009 model sporting a new 4.6L Ultra V8 with over 320 HP. This Super model could also have the leather-covered dash and multimedia system from the Enclave concept vehicle.

Buick Lucerne: A minor refresh will occur on the 2009 Lucerne. This will include revising the exterior and an all-new interior. The engine lineup will also be revised to include only the 3.6L direct-injected HF V6 mated to a 6-speed automatic.

Buick Velite: There were rumors that the Velite was dead, however Buick is still trying to produce the hard-top. If they can get their hands on two Zeta cars, Buick will produce the Velite.

-Cadillac-

Cadillac BLS: Bob Lutz himself has said that the currently Europe-only BLS will come to America when it is redesigned. A wagon version may follow. The BLS will be based on the Epsilon II platform which will offer GM a variety of body styles and configurations. We could see the BLS on sale here in 2010.

Cadillac DTS: Like it's Buick cousin, the DTS gets a slight revisit as well as the 3.6L direct-injected HF V6 and 6-speed automatic.

Cadillac SRX: :D The SRX will be discontinued sometime around 2009-10. Cadillac is considering replacing it with a Lambda crossover.:D

-Chevrolet-

Chevrolet Camaro: Rumors state that the Camaro is on for model-year 2009. Insiders have confirmed that the production version is very, very close (nearly identical) to the concept car in regards to the exterior. Power is said to come from the 3.6L V6 and an optional 6.0L LS2 V8. GM’s Oshawa, Ontario, Canada plant is likely where this Camaro will call home.

Chevrolet Corvette SS: Remember the ‘Blue Devil’ rumors? That project is still on, under the name Corvette SS. The mother of all Corvettes will be powered by a supercharged version of the upcoming 6.2L LS3 Small-Block V8. The Supercharger is said to be integrated into the manifold like the 4.4L Northstar. Power ratings will be at about 650 HP, and this car is said to break tons of performance records...for nearly a fraction of the cost of anything close to it's performance capabilities.

Chevrolet Traverse: As expected, Chevrolet will get a Lambda crossover; to be named Traverse. The direct-injected 3.6L HF V6 will power the new CUV (as it will all Lambda vehicles) and an optional Ultra V8 is anticipated, however a two-mode hybrid Traverse is also under consideration. Production will begin in August 2008 at the Spring Hill, Tennessee plant.

Chevrolet Uplander: Cancelled. The Lambda minivan program was vastly over-budget, and a business case could not be made for them.

-GMC-

GMC Acadia: A Denali version of the Acadia will arrive several months after the vehicle's launch. It will be powered by a 4.6L Ultra V8, making around 330 HP. It is expected to be a 2009 model.

GMC Minivan: Supposedly cancelled. See Uplander for details.

-Hummer-

Hummer H3 SUT: The H3 line will be getting extended, literally. The H3 SUT will ride on the Colorado Crew Cab's platform thus providing a more useable bed than the H2 SUT.

-Pontiac-

Pontiac GTO: The Goat will go on a 24-48 month hiatus starting in 2007. While on hiatus, a new GTO will be in the works to arrive in 2008. It will share components with the Camaro, but insiders assure us that they will not share any sheet metal.

-Saab-

Saab Aero-X: There are rumors that Saab is working on a production version of the Aero-X concept on the Kappa platform. The car will be available in roadster and coupe versions. There is also talk that it may be named Sonnet.

Saab 9-2x: Because GM has sold their share of Subaru to Toyota, the current 9-2x will be dying soon. Although a future 9-2x has not been approved for production, it is possible that GM will build a true 9-2x off of the Delta (or Delta II) platform. This would allow Saab to have some much needed product as well as help fill the Delta plants to capacity. When or even if this product will arrive is unknown, but it will be after 2009 for sure.

Saab 9-4x:
Saab will replace the stop-gap 9-7x with this similarly sized product. It'll likely be based off Theta II or Epsilon II. The 9-4x will sport a turbocharged V6 in the US and a turbocharged 4-cylinder in the European market. Like it's Cadillac and Buick cousins, it will probably be built in Mexico.

Saab 9-5: An all-new, Epsilon II based 9-5 will arrive in 2009. The car will have a front end similar to that of the Aero-X concept car Saab showcased at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show.

-Saturn-

Saturn Astra: Opel is working on an all-new Astra right now for the 2009 model year. Needless to say, if the Astra does well for Saturn in 2008, the all new Astra will be imported here from Germany for Saturn's use. Depending on manufacturing, the new Astra could become a mainstream car for Saturn.

Saturn Outlook: Two-mode hybrid version of the Outlook will come in 2009 model-year.

Saturn Vue: In addition to the 2.4L BAS Hybrid on the new Vue, a new Two-Mode Hybrid version of the Vue will arrive in 2009 model-year. It will be powered by a Direct-Injected 3.6L DOHC V6 and have

-2010 Model-Year
-Buick-

Buick CUV: Buick will be getting a 5-passenger CUV based on the Theta II/Epsilon II combo platform (dubbed TE). Power will come from the HF V6's, and it will be built in Mexico with the BRX.

Buick LaCrosse: Starting in model-year 2011 the LaCrosse will move to the Epsilon II platform. Apparently the new Buick will be built at GM’s Fairfax plant in Kansas City. Expect it to be powered by GM’s High-Feature 3.6L V6.

-Cadillac-

Cadillac BRX: The BRX has been confirmed. It will ride on a new premium version of the Theta II platform and be a combination of the Epsilon II and Theta II platforms. Power will come from both the 2.8L HF V6 and the 3.6L HF V6. If gas prices remain high in the US, GM will also sell a 1.9L diesel BRX, otherwise the diesel will be for Europe only.

Cadillac CTS: Coupe/convertible and wagon models of the CTS are said to go on-sale in early to mid 2009 as 2010 models. The wagon is suppose to have quite a high-style look to it.

Cadillac Kappa: Caddy is planning a Kappa-based two-seater to compete with the likes of the BMW Z4. It is expected sometime in 2009.

-Chevrolet-

Chevrolet Cobalt: For about a year now it has been rumored that the Cobalt would recieve a MCE in 2008 to keep it up with the competition. We have now heard that the MCE has been cancelled. Instead, an all-new Cobalt is set to arrive in the 2010 model-year. This car will have been developed world-wide, and will be sold world-wide. Aside from offering regular sedan/coupe models, GM will also have a high-styled coupe that is unique to the Cobalt line. This car will be used as competition against the Scion tC and Civic Coupe.

Chevrolet Equinox: Expect a new Equinox around 2010. It will likely be developed in conjunction with Daewoo and is said to be very car like (similar to the Ford Edge).

Chevrolet Malibu: The first Epsilon II based Malibu will arrive in the 2010-11 model-year. Powertrains will likely include the 2.4L, 3.5L and 3.6L.

-Hummer-

Hummer H2: A new H2 was scheduled to arrive in 2008 with the rest of the GMT-900’s, but that was delayed to move up the launch of all the new mainstream trucks and SUV’s. Expect the new H2 to show off a new look for Hummer. It may arrive in 2010 model-year.

Hummer H4: Based on the GMT-700 platform, the H4 will be Hummer's Jeep Wrangler competitor. It is unknown at this time what powetrain will be used in the H4, but a V6 is almost a certain.

-Pontiac-

Pontiac G4: Pontiac is considering a rear-wheel drive, compact sedan to replace the stop-gap G5 we have now.

Pontiac G6: As GMI reported this month, the G6 will likely move to a rear-wheel drive platform. The platform is possibly the "Beta" platform Holden developed for the Torana concept car. Engine possibilities are anyone's guess at this point.

Pontiac Torrent: To continue their pursuit to be a performance brand, Pontiac will give their Torrent crossover to GMC in 2011.

-Saab-

Saab 9-1: GM is pondering the idea of having a small Saab based on the Delta II platform. Such a car would share many parts with the Opel Astra and styling would reflect the Aero X concept vehicle.

Saab 9-5: The 9-5 will be all new and move to the Epsilon II platform.

-Saturn-

Saturn Aura: Some say that a new Epsilon II based Aura will not come until 2012, however some say 2010 (with the Malibu/G6). Considering that the Aura is produced in the same plant as the Malibu, it only makes sense that they change the Aura at the same time as the Malibu. In addition, GM will be importing the Opel Vectra Wagon to the U.S. for Saturn to sell as the Aura wagon. The car might carry a different name though.

Saturn MPV: Some suggest that GM is going to give Saturn a Mazda5/Kia Rondo competitor based on the TE platform for 2010 model year.

-2011 Model-Year+
-Buick-

Buick Lucerne: An all-new Lucerne will arrive in 2011 model-year on the Zeta RWD platform. Power is expected to come from a base V6 and some form of GM's Ultra V8.

-Cadillac-

Cadillac BLS: Cadillac executives are wanting a true 3-series competitor bad. So instead of keeping the currently Europe-only BLS on as a front-driver, they will be moving it to the new Alpha small RWD platform for the 2012 model-year and bring it to the US. Power will come from a buffet of HF V6's--including a possible turbo 3.6L. A diesel variant is also expected.

Cadillac CTS: For the 2011 model-year Cadillac is suppose to launch a diesel CTS in the US. An all-new CTS is expected for the 2013 model-year.

-Chevrolet-

Chevrolet Colorado: A major redesign will take place on the Colorado for 2011. The whole truck will be altered in some way or another. Powertrains will stay close to what we currently have, but will be more fuel-efficient and have higher output levels. A 3.0L common-rail diesel is also expected. The platform will remain much the same as the current one.

Chevrolet HHR: Saying they decide to keep the HHR (which is in question), a new one will come for the 2011 model-year. Like the new Cobalt, it will be based on the new Delta II platform.

Chevrolet Impala: As reported in the press, the RWD Zeta Impala has been delayed to see what happens with the new CAFE standards. It is now expected to arrive in 2010 as a 2011 model. It is suppose to use design cues from the 1967 model, however it will NOT be a retro design. The main design element will be a large shield grille (which is Chevrolet's new global design cue). Power will come from the 3.6L HF V6 as the base engine, and likely two optional V8's; the 5.3L V8 and a larger-output SS V8.

Chevrolet SUT: Sources are saying that GM has green-lighted the Lambda SUT's. If this is the case, Chevrolet will be getting one. It would likely be AWD and combat the Honda Ridgeline face-to-face. It is slated for the 2011 model-year.

Chevrolet Volt: Yes, the Volt WILL be coming. GM has it on for the 2011 model-year, but it will arrive in mid 2010 calendar-year. It will be based on the Delta II platform, and most of the concept's attributes are to make it to production. The design is expected to stay similar to the concept as well. GM wants this car very badly to take on the next Prius, and has price projections in the low $20,000's.

-GMC-

GMC Canyon: A major redesign will take place on the Canyon for 2011. The whole truck will be altered in some way or another. Powertrains will stay close to what we currently have, but will be more fuel-efficient and have higher output levels. A 3.0L common-rail diesel is also expected. The platform will remain much the same as the current one.

-Hummer-

Hummer H3: An all new H3 is due in 2012 model-year.

-Pontiac-

Pontiac G6: The all-new G6 is suppose to arrive in mid-2010 as a 2011 model. It will be based on GM's new mid-size RWD sedan platform--dubbed "Alpha." Sedan and coupe models are expected, however there is no word on a convertible.

-Saab-

Saab 9-3: After being on the market for nearly 7 years, the current 9-3 will be replaced in model-year 2011. The car will ride on GM’s Epsilon II platform. A coupe may arrive as well.

-Saturn-

Saturn Corsa: Unless GM gets convinced that there is a viable way to bring the current Opel Corsa to the US market, it appears they will launch the next-generation Corsa in the US market in 2011 as a 2012 model.
