I have been seriously considering switching from 5/30 all climate to Motorcraft or Mobil 1 Full synthetic oil. Im also switching from a Wix Filter to a Motorcraft FL 820s.

Has anyone had any leakage, dripping, or any issues, switching from all climate to synthetic oil?
My Motor has 150K and is leak free at the moment. any thoughts?
Pros and cons?

Typically, when you switch from dino to synthetic on a high mileage engine, you will develop leaks. Well, not so much leaks, but rather seeps.

This is not set in stone, however. Some engines develop no seeps while others seeps like a mofo.

Always a chance for leaks... but what can you do...

I would stick to the MC synthetic blend, good stuff.

most of the change over leakage was handled decades ago, but anything can happen i guess. i have used synthetic since 1979 exclusively and never had a problem.the first 150k. my girlfriend used castrol gtx without MT knowledge when she died and i got the car back i switched to royal purple with zero ill effect 210k now. and she's a screamer still hope this helps

Only thing I can say and I say this out of experience is this, if a car has been running on lubricants other than synthetics, then you need to make sure you do a good flush of the old and make sure you get as much of the non-synthetic out, and change filter for the swap. Synthetic loses its ability to protect when contaminated. Through the past several years technology has advanced, mainly to seal protection. Before when synthetics were pushed so hard to the public, seals would fail due to the characteristics of the synthetic, causing leakage or failed seals. But with the inhibitors they have added, most synthetics actually tend to restore seal life and regain some HP loss.

What I have done on a norm is do a engine flush, then oil and filter change to synthetic ,then after about 300-500 miles, I do another oil and filter change. This to me ensures that I have gotten most of the contaminates from the reg oil out.
