so I filled up my mark twice since I bought it. The problem I'm having is that the car won't take more than 11 gallons of fuel, Now I know it should hold more than that. The gauge also shows just a bit above 3/4 tank. What can be going on that It won't let me top off? any suggestions? everything looks straight under the car.

Evap system?.. can you slowly fill it after 11 gallons?

I would guess the tank level is off. The pump may have been replaced and the level damaged.

try "filling" it then drive around the block/down the road etc and try to add more, i agree with MarkVIII93, sounds evap related, CEL on?

No it seems it always tops off at 11 gallons. I've tried going down the block and so on. No CEL is on at all. The car runs great but just won't let me fill it past 11 gallons gauge shows its at 3/4 tank and it says i have 250 or so miles to empty.

How much fuel is left when it's 'empty'?

Our mark shows empty at about 1/3 tank. The wife always fills it up 'cause she doesn't want to drive with the needle under the E, yet it only takes about 11 gallons as well till it's actually full.

On ours - it's just an out of whack fuel gauge. Have a jerry-can with you, and drive till it's really empty - see how many gallons you can put in after that.
