From reading a bunch of posts on here it appears a lot of folk are having trouble ie; stumbling, rough idle/acceleration but no CEL. Also a possible solution to this problem is replacing the fuel filter. Could some one who has done it themselves post the DIY steps. That could really help some folks out, myself included.:) Just the basics, you know; what model, location, access, safety steps, special tools etc.

very easy.

- remove the driver's wheel/rim
- pull back the plastic wheel well liner (couple of plastic pins)
- the fuel filter it right there - held in with one screw
- the fuel filter is attached to the hard lines with standard Ford plastic r-clips

Have a rag ready to catch a little spill and somewhere handy to dump the filter (which will be full of gas).

Dump the filter - inlet first and look at the crud in the gas. It is amazing how dirty it gets....

I'm sure its been said b4 but it deserves repeating . . . . Quick, your the man!!! And your a hero to all LS owners!! Thank you and good luck with the huffer!

I know that most cars recommend every 30k but I normally do things like this every year as part of my spring maintenance, along with the pcv valve.

They are so cheap and easy, its good for peace of mind.
