Hey Guys,
I need some help fixing a problem with my fuel filter, here's the story. I was replacing my fuel filter this week, didn't know there were quick disconnects, pulled like hell and broke the nylon inlet tube from the metal fuel line into the fuel filter. Went and got a repair kit, kit says to soak in hot water until soft and pliable, so I did but it never got soft OR pliable and couldn't fit it over the fuel line barb, even after 4 hours. So now I have no car and am riding my bike to work everyday, which I was doing before but that's neither here nor there. So I need help with any advice I can get on how to fit the 3/8" nylon fuel line over the metal fuel line barb that runs under the car. Thanks

There isn't anything magic about the exact parts lay-out that came from the factory. I redid the whole set-up in the wheel-well and went with an aftermarket filter several years ago.

Try making the connections using hose rated for fuel-injection pressures.

the water has to be very very hot - even throwing it into a boiling pot on stove

I dropped it in boiling water for 30 min (instructions say 10) but nothing doing.
I heard some silicone lube spray may help? If I can't get it by tomorrow I'm just going to slice the hose, put as much over the barb as possible, and clamp the rest. Just enough to take it to a professional.
