Sway bar bushing, control arm, Tie F-ckin rod, shock mount, Global F-ckin Warming. After hours of reading hundreds of posts I figured it was the sway bar bushing being that you can't jam or wrap heavy fuel hose line and stuff universal shock rubber thingey's cut in half and hose clamp or zip tie all the mess arround the bushing or area you think its coming from. Well I did that and still had the rattle. I called the Lincoln dealer today and asked the parts person the size in mm of the front sway bar of a 2000 Lincoln LS Sport, I wasen't sure if it was 28.5 or 30 and if all LS's went to 30 after 03. After being on hold for 5 minutes he came back and said we do not know but if you find out the sizes please call us back and let us know. Energy makes a universal bushing 9-5171 and moog also makes one. After a few cocktails tonight I put the car on ramps and crawled under with a crow bar and stuck it in various places and applied pressure looking for movement or sound, Nada. I was on my back where the driver side tie rod connects to what ever the hell it connects to when I saw threads, WTF, 5 threads showing from the caliper mounting bolt, the bolt was hitting the dust shield when going over bumps or crapy roads. The car now makes as much noice as a skinhead at a NAACP meeting, thats none. If you have a rattle check that first and you might save yourself a few headaches and lots of vodka.
