I plan on replacing upper and lower control arms, endlinks and strut rod bushings. I have found info on replacing the control arms seems the driver side will be fun. Any info on replacing the strut rod bushings?
A little FYI I Advance has the uppers for about $5 more the Rockauto.com but the lowers are about $61 cheaper each. I get to save a lil more through my work discount :) If anyone lives around Charlotte I can get you the discount as well.

There is an access hole for the passenger side upper. Remove the wheel well liner to see. You need a couple extensions and u-joints. However, I just decided to cut away the sheet metal :D lol

Strut rods should be easy, but I had to heat the fitting up where it meets the frame. Then they came lose. Helps to also clean the threads very well before backing the nut off.

Sal- on the drivers side under some insulation is where the access hole Unity was describing. The passenger side should be a little easier. Some people however just chisel or cut off the tab that prevents putting on a wrench.
If you are going to do lowers too (smart idea) don't forget to get the Strut rod bushings, and the Control arm links (get all TRW ).

Get a can of PB Blaster and liberally apply to the lower strut rod and lower control arm bolts and bushings a day or so in advance. I use an Air chisel with a punch point to drive these components apart.

I will mostly likely do this at a shop with a lift and air tools. I hope it makes it easier =)
I am gettin all Moog from Advance, was thinkin of getting the OEM strut rod bushings.

the lower control arms i got from advance are TRW. Do they sell Moog rear sway bar end links? because the ones i saw were TRW and 96 dollars for two. how lower control arms and end links are the same price is beyond me?

Sorry looked over my notes Advance sells TRW not Moog. I check for front endlinks. Carquest has Moog fronts for about $40 ea.

MOOG, TRW.... same thing. Half the MOOG stuff you get will be filled with TRW stamped parts.

A lift and air tools. What are those? Floor jack, jack stands, a big piece of pipe, assorted hammers, and loud music.

Ahh yes the old days lol.
I just wish at my shop there was atleast one Ford guy so I had some real help lol. All these guys know are BMW's.
So I just changed the oil (I really think I am going to relocate that filter lol), so while the car was up on the lift I was looking at all the suspension parts and I need to add outer tie rods to the list.
How long has everyone else usually knock these items out in?
Also now added to the Mark VIII needs are valve cover gaskets.

Dude, do the inners too! Cheap and as long as its all out and needs alignment anyway... I did not do mine, regret it :(

Damn list keeps gettin bigger and bigger...
Need to get all the maintence done, I want a new engine and trans lol.

Yea, burt once you're done it will handle like a new ride and you shouldn't have to touch it for 10 more years.

Any sites that have details with pics on how to do the work?

You might try local library and see if they have a Helms/Chilton manual. This way you get some pics and most importantly torque specs.

Forgot to add: large quantities of adult beverages. Loud music is to save neighbors the strings of bad words that WILL flow loud and clear!
