Aside from the usual stuff to look for on these cars, what is there additionally I need to check on a '96 car, and the fact its an LSC?

He mentioned it needs some love, needs new front leather, moon roof weatherstrip, and headlights are yellow, needs repainted....

I'm going to check out the trans/suspension for him and anything else I can see/diagnose on my test drive before he decides to buy it.

What would ones opinion of price be on a car such as this? Id say its in average/below average shape from the things he's describing.

Mine needs paint (money), but was a one owner car that had been regularly maintained (you can tell).
I paid 2k for it, think that was a fair price. Are the factory HIDs still in it, and do they work? If not, bring up the point that Ford wants about $1,400 to "fix" the problem. That'll knock a couple hundred off at least, was the reason my cars former owner sold it.
Gonna need new front suspension components, SRB and UCAs are a given. What's the air ride like?
Mine has nice leather up front, small tear in the corner on the passenger seat. Offer a grand and then deal.

i don't think its that you need to check stuff, so much as some stuff is harder to find. as long as the computer, imrc's, and vrcm all work, i think you are back to regular mark stuff.

air ride or coils.
blown strut rod bushings.
warped front rotors.
stuck parking brake.
bad upper and lower ball joints.
blown toe link compensators in the rear.
rusted out rear sway bar.
rust. always rust. lol.

and so on.

I planned to get as far under it as I could squeeze myself and check it over with my LED flashlight, especially the suspension. And he said the headlights do work, but they need restored from the sounds of it.

Well, my friend passed on the car. He found lots of mold in it from the leaking moon roof, and the trans slips.
