fried my damn starter.

This damn car is heavy when I have to try to push it up ramps lol. No easy way to do it. I'm guessing the starter on here is on the passenger side? Just wondering right now while I'm waiting for help to get the car up on the ramps. It's been on the passenger side on every vehicle in which I've changed out the starter.

nvm. Got it uon the ramps now so now I can see it. It's times like these I wish my car wasn't lowered. The other 99.5% of the time I like it.

And... done. Well, I'm done with it. I got frustrated because the ground strap wouldn't come off after about 1/2 hour. Called a tow truck, mechanic will have it done tomorrow. $63 to have them change it instead of me.

And just got the car back. STarter is WAY better than I can even remember it being. Cranks WAY faster now.

But, now my head unit won't power on. All that jump starting business probably fried a fuse. I'm sick of working on cars lol. I just want to buy a bottle of whickey and send the kids to their grandparents for the night. Hey, that ain't a bad idea...

Fired starter, fried fuses.... all this talk of fried stuff is making me crave some buffalo wings and onion rings. :D

And FINALLY ordered my fuel pump. 255lph walbro en route :D

are you sure that you haven't already started.lol

yea also with kenwoods they tend to lock up, they can either be reset from a pin hole button on the front (some models) or by unplugging and replugging in the harness (disconnecting the battery will also do this)

I pulled the neg battery cable after the jumpstarting attempts. That would be cool if pressing the button resets it.

***runs out to car***

lol. reset button worked. I LOVE easy fixes :D

Now I wish I could remember the damn security code.

Check the negative battery cable where it is attached to the car body, they can become loose/corroded, it has been an issue with the LS.

That was my first thought, was a ground issue. But it turns out that the simplest solution turned out to be the correct one. :D

Now I wish I could remember the damn security code.

ROFL, thats why that code sh!t is the stupidest sh!t i have ever seen, TURN IT OFF NOW PETE.

a code wont keep somebody from stealing it, just from using it after they steal it (but it will probably still get sold and making them money before they find out about the code) then your still stuck will a hole in your dash

I was just saying the SAME thing. I don't get it.

Luckily, I wrote it on my owner's manual. Finding THAT was an adventure in and of itself too though.

BTW, guess whose car didn't start this morning?

On my kenwood deck(not even a year old) when it goes into protect mode If I press the reset button once it asks for a code if I hold it for like 15 seconds it boots right back up

lol. You too? Mine didn't. starter works fine, but won't fire up. Fuel pump will be here tuesday. I'm going to pick up a fuel filter tonight after work, and do that at least until then. My truck fires up right away :D

All this talk about cars not starting has got me worried about mine. Its been sitting for about 3 months now and I havent even gone to check up on it... :(

Mine sat for 12 months once, I was in Korea for the year, but did come back on midtour leave and was driving it after 6 months... Started no problem. Parked it again for the remaining 6 months and when I returned it was dead. You just never know how long you got haha.
