I know people like you. You realy care for the cute little kitties, but for some reason you dont mind human abortion so much.
We have a political and current events forum around here. You are more than welcome to address topics like that there.

And my opinions on current events have been more than adequately recorded there.

You must realize I live in northern wisconsin. We shoot deer out of the bedroom window. I dont believe in torture, but shooting a cat with a crisp shotgun to the head does not make it suffer. I'm shure you will be able to find a couple of more cats somewhere.
No one is going to discharge a firearm within his city limits. Second, he'd never get close enough to that cat to get the shot off. Finally, the originator of the thread spoke specifically of poisoning the cat with anti-freeze. Anti-freeze being a vicious way to die, and an irresponsible and reckless way to eliminate an animal.

And my case has been made. If you're not bright enough to understand it, or literate enough to read it, there's no value in repeating it.

Frankly, I don't think it's justifiable to torture an animal simply because it left paw prints on my car. But that's just me. Perhaps some of you have no values or respect for animals.

And will he be killing EVERY stray cat he comes across "that doesn't belong" or will it only be limited to the one that "foolishly" sat on his warm hood? What other animals in the neighborhood don't "belong" and will he be causing kidney failure in those animals too?

Given the vulgarity and personal attacks on other members, it is hard for me to see how your point has been made. In fact, because you chose to speak with such a lack of class, it actually detracts from the point you may have been trying to make. If you would like to be taken seriously, I would suggest not speaking of genitals.

One thing I did want to get clarification on is are you against harming any animal or just ones that some may consider a pet? A stray cat is not a pet and therefore there should be no distinction made between it and another animal that is not domesticated (unless it is protected by federal law).

Now to the other flaw in your post. Stray cats carry disease and they are not protected by any law. I kill stray cats on my property because I have animals of my own and the neighborhood has young boys and girls that do not need to be exposed to their possible diseases. I also kill mice, rats, moles, and disease carrying wild animals.

You should just leave some food out for it with some rat poison in it. Seems like it would be a little better than antifreeze. Granted I don't know if rat poison would kill it, but its worth a try, and I don't think it would be as harsh.

Rat poison acts as a blood thinner. It causes internal bleeding in the animal's organs, leading to a painful death. It is by no means less harsh.

I suggest a sledge hammer. For best results, try to catch it while it's sleeping on your hood.

I think a high voltage charge would do the trick. Must not be too inhumane as they use it from time to time to get rid of people.

Thinking wire a car battery up to a transformer, say 50-60KV. just leave the leads where the cat would sleep. Only bummer would be if the cat caught fire and damaged your paint. It's unlikely but not impossible.

On a serious note we have 1 cat that we got from shelter. Additionally, between 3 of our neighbors there are 3 additional cats that live w/us 75% of the time because those people won't take care of them. The kids love them and I am shocked at how tolerant these cats are of being drug around by my kids.

At any rate one of these cats walks all over my car and leaves paw prints and fine scratches on it. Can you guys think of a legitimate way to keep the cats off the car WITHOUT harming them?

Not really. I don't think those spray repellents are very effective. I think it's more of a seasonal (winter) problem. I've had it happen a few times myself and a quick application of ScratchX took the scratches right out of the clearcoat. Seems like every time I really detail my car, I find a few places to touch up with that product. Works great and it beats exterminating animals.

You guys are great. I came looking for articles to help me fix a bad o2 sensors and you guys go out of your way to cheer me up! Million thanks!

And by the way, since its the holiday season, I'll pitch in for that bottle of tasty anti-freeze. It's all about giving to the hungry and needy, right?

I've heard that coyote urine is extremely effective at keeping cats off cars. I'm told you can buy it online. If it really smells like pee, or if they just use the pheromones, I don't know.
