How fast have you gone with your 4.10's Geno?

Buried and beyond many times. Gets good mpg up there too.

I was under the impression that when you change the gears it throws off the mpg calculation and there was no way to fix that. So is that 24mpg really right?

it does throw off mpg,and its a very easy fix, swap speedo gears and all is good again

No it's not really that off as far as accuracy goes. In that shot just seconds after it was at 21 then 18.2 etc, the longer you maintain that kind of speed it will keep going down.
 
With stock gearing.. I can get up to about 110.. and it kind of vibrates.. now i'm used to 4 wheel driver.. but same concept.. right.. drive shafts have u-joints.. and once they start going bad.. you get a vibration... Also.. were those white face gauges made for you?
 
i havnt taken it that fast, because i dont want to lose my license.. eek! where do you get that speedo gear for the tranny - thats next month project jmod new spring pistons mercon v and that speedo gear.

how hard is it to install that speedo gear?

+1 for the 4:10 gears, i love em - im not knocking the driveshaft - i took the chance, it

They were our cutom gauges we had. We no longer carry them.

You put gears in that set up you will not get past 60 w/o horror vibes.
 
I have been thinkin of 4.10 but I drive the car to work every day so that is 350 miles aweek. Lots of stop and go to work and 75mph driving home in my bone stock 94 I get 23-25mpg. I really do not want it ti drop so I unfortunatley FEAR THE GEAR =(

Exact opposite. I get 27.5 on the highway at 75 mph with cruise on. Average is 18.1 !!!
 
my main issue with my car not sure about yours but the trans always wants to be in third gear at low speeds at light throttle, even with the 4.10's it pisses me off

you gotta be on it to have it hold the gears longer. im hoping thats because i dont have the upgraded pistons / springs... anyone experience this? OD off like third gear at like 30 something miles an hour! bugger! i always wanna just put it in 2 and then go to D (3) when i feel like it. i'm pro manual - i decide what gear!
 
I have 3.73 gears I can bring the up to 80 90, very smooth! I have a 93 one piece drive shaft, i think 3.73 is the best all round for me
 
ive been kicking around the idea of throwing in my pumpkin with 3.73's and a trac loc, but i have the 2 piece shaft, i dont have any vibes out of it all the way up to 120 (did it only a couple times IL roads suck) and usually dont go much over 85-90 so maybe ill be ok. my biggest prob is the wife will shoot me if i drop 500 on a new driveshaft, so i gotta run what i got if i swap it, also will i need a chip/tune to run the gears or will my shift points be all screwed up if i dont, i do have a speedo gear also
p.s. its a 98 lsc if it matters
