I am buying a diff from someone on another cite. he says it is a complete ford racing pumpkin. built by for racing with 3.73 gears and tl. if i am not mistaken the cobra had 3.55s in it stock... he says was intended for tbird and cobra guys. problem is i can not find anything on this diff. i find the housing the tl and the gears sold separately but not as a complete built set.

so my question is has anyone ever heard of a completely assembled bolt in diff offered by ford racing? and this dose this look like the ford racing housing to you.
not that it matters alot i am going to buy it but i would love to read a little about it. he says it has carbon clutches in it.

Yes, it is prolly a FRPP product. They stopped selling complete units with 3.73's, a few years ago. It has nothing to do with individual vehicles.

My brother has a 96 cobra and swears it has 3.27's stock. I don't know all I know is he was planning to put some 3.55's in. I think he's nuts.

I had the FRPP 3.73 diff in my T-Bird. You used to be able to order it for $650 through FRPP. Shame they quit selling it, made it a quick and easy swap.

Marco- Pretty sure your brother is right. Think they all got 3.27's, until 03...which was 3.55's stock.

Wow, I'm surprised he was right! I didn't know what they came with, but I told him told give me the 3.55's if he wasn't going to use them. All I have to do is travel 700 miles one way to get them.

He is wasting his money. Those early Cobra's need 4.10's.
