My 2005 LS8 has a LSD.. STOCK..

Why are you guys swapping 8.8 rears and all this other stuff? Am I just lucky maybe and got a one in a million car with a LSD? It was a FL car originally and the one owner before me was a priest and I bought it completely stock. Im quite lost as to my perdicament.. Ive never owned a pegleg reared car that spun both tires for a brakestand, in the rain, snow nothing, Camaros, Firebirds, a Mustang, a 240sx, a 300zx.. None..

Mine does this as well, but sometimes it decides to only one wheel spin.

As a matter of fact, I went to the track on my first run I rolled through the water box didn't know I was only spinning one wheel and when I launched from the line it spun the other. It was retarded and on video. :gay:

We have LSD.. kinda when the rear end wants too its very soft and picky.
 
lol....your LS is only special cause it was Baptized...or it had a Priest's nuts on it....that's the only thing that makes it special.....

I do that all the time in mine. Well used to, haven't done it with the new tires yet. Ive left marks over 150ft long. It comes down to proper weight balance, not a limited slip diff.
 
looks like there was rain on your car, maybe this was a contributing factor?
 
The way I understood it if both sides have equal traction or lack there of... they will both spin..

I had a picture of my street where I pulled out of the driveway on a dry sunny day and left 6 foot marks with each tire no brake stand needed. Also there is one next to those that is 30 feet long but its a solo line. So like they said.. it does what it wants.

The lines were rather faded before I took the picture, it wasn't a picture of the lines though

I washed it cause birds love taking craps on my car, no soap or anything and the tires were dry by the time i got to that parking lot.. Ill go do it again tonight or tomorrow, I want a video haha
 
Maybe your "priest" was an enthusiast and put a LSD swap in there. I can assure you your LS did not come from the factory with a LSD. Open the pumpkin and you will see.
Did you buy the car from the priest? or a dealer who told you it was the "priest mobile"??

Sorry Bud, you don't have an LSD stock from the factory.

"When it is necessary for 1 wheel and halfshaft to rotate faster than the other, the faster turning differential side gear causes the differential pinion gears to roll on the slower turning differential side gear. This allows differential action between the 2 halfshafts."

I think the priest must have baptized your car alot! :(
 
Try this... do a brake stand for 3-5 seconds and then stop completely so no tire is spinning... then do another brake stand...

Initially with an open diff the passenger side should spin, and then when you stop the hot clean tire sticks to the pavement and then when you do the second one the cold dirty passenger tire should spin.

Both tires spinning at the same time is no indication that you LSD....

Then your saying no one dropped it in so you DO not have one. Try it on a bit of slippery ground. I guarantee you if you keep doing it you will see you dont have a LSD.

Tested last night, yall were right.. :( No LSD and now I dont have power steering either..
 
Lol it was some random guy who happened to be a priest that I bought it from he wasnt my priest damnit! haha
