I have been looking through threads and only seen one way of holding the ASHAM8 to the faceplate. I am installing mine soon and am seriously wondering: How do you guys hold the module to the faceplate? How do you keep it from falling away from its installed location?

I am installing it in a Gen2 car where the ashtray/cigarette lighter location.

^^Yours is the one I had been looking at! ^^

To be honest, yours is the only install I have seen with some sort of retention method and it was one I was referring to for clamping the unit from the bottom. I will have to look at the board and come up with something.

Did you find the one lasersvt installed in his old 98?

If i wouldn't have cared about warranty on mine.
I would have changed the plastic standoffs to aluminum with thread coming out of the top to go into the faceplate.
Something like these.

You, sir, must reside in my mind. That was the set-up I was looking to create (I am an A&P mechanic with access to sheetmetal and other goodies).
I did indeed see LaserSVTs install. I have been doing a LOT of searching for quite a few different subjects, to include ASHAM installs.

I will post pics when I start my install (if I can find the friggin' charger for the camera battery!).
