For those who carry....

Keep the 9mm Springfield XDM 19rd loaded on the front seat. It's the law here that it must be visible in the car.

What happens to the gun if you get in an accident? Please tell me you at least have the safety on!

A conceal weapons permit is not required to open carry in your car in VA. It's mandatory to have if you carry your weapon on your person, but you can open carry in public without a permit also. VA is a golden state when it comes to open carry in public.

You are not reading properly. You said that the gun needed to be in plain sight; I said that was the case unless you have a Concealed Handgun Permit.

9mm center council I leave it loaded, then I got a 50cal Barrett and a ghille suite in the trunk with my smoke, frag, and stun grenades I hide those underneathe the bodies

The XDM has no manual safeties (unless you count that silly Glock-like doo-dad on the trigger itself), and, like all modern handguns, it's drop-safe. Unless you put your finger in the trigger guard and squeeze the trigger, it won't go bang. Well, maybe it would if there were a fire in the car that got hot enough to set off the powder in the cartridge, but in that case all bets are off, anyway...

XD's and XDM's have the grip safety along with the double-action trigger. You have to be squeezing the grip along with pulling the trigger otherwise its not firing...

Yup, have fun with all your little safety features.. When your getting punched in the face cause you didnt click something over, or squeeze this thing Ill be blasting some guys face off with my Glock 30..

This is gonna turn into one of those threads where people start bitching about how other people carry, ect.. Just like the LS Girls thread I made when the broad wanted to hold my Glock and everyone freaked out cause her finger was in the trigger well..

Then it needs to be on your person.

Negative.

There was a lot of testing done that showed how difficult it is to get a round to fire off when subjected to heat. I cannot find it, but will keep looking.

Not on my gun, just pick up and squeeze. No clicking nothing.

I'm talking about a safety that has to be manually engaged and disengaged, like you find on a Browning Hi-Power or a Beretta 92FS, not integral safeties like grip safeties. There are plenty of integral safeties on all modern handguns (at least those that can be sold in the US).

i got a cheapy...till i get my kimber desert warrior and nice assortment of others...for now.... hi-point 9c

YEEEEEE HAAAW! pew pew pew.

For the record I am a big fan of personal gun rights. But, only if that person is me.

Two old but very reliable HK 9mm, both in the trunk behind the box, but I got a taser under the seat and a colapsable tire iron wedged between the console and the passenger seat that doubles as a "be cool tool". I also have a dive knife, baseball bat, brass knuckles, and short piece of tow chain in the trunk. You can never be too ready to go to it.

Lol! I keep a breaker bar(40in maybe) and the 36mm Axle nut socket on the end of it in my trunk
