I finally solved my stumble problem that I had in warm climate. car ran great all winter and spring, once it would got warm outside after a prolonged period of driving or idle in traffic, it wouldn't go past 3k rpm.

Install was pretty easy. We didnt take the tank off all the way. Taking the exhaust off the hangers in the back allows plenty of space to take the pump out.

I got a Focus SVT pump PFS 204.

We just swaped pumps and kept the original bucket to avoid any complications. Wired everything up and that was it. Bucket filter was very dirty, the little sleve filter on the pump itself was just very very dirty. Tank itself??? Clean, go figure.

Car runs fine now and I am 99% sure problem is solved. I drove for 2 hours today with ac in traffic and all is well.

Total time, 1.5 hours.

Big Thank You to Nick (NickT88LSC) who did all of the work.
And to DLF for detailed information.

Mine did this when I was on tour. I made 3 passes at the strip in 100 degree heat and power was way off (yes I know to be expected ) but it had a stumble and miss that did not go away till much later (I was thinking I had heat soak on coil packs ). I have thought about doing a 255 just for insurance...... Seams like a better idea now.

where did you pick the pump up at and for how much
I have been putting it off waiting for a good deal

Tousley Ford is where I got the part.
With 2 day delivery it was $219.

With two day shipping it would be the same.
Either way, I just wanted to get this problem solved. I got a Canada trip planned end of this month and I really wanted to have the car running proper. Otherwise I would have to use my Mark VII or my sisters BMW 335I and I really wanted to take the 8 for an extended 1000+ mile trip.

Either way, I am glad the problem is solved.

Many thanks!

Dave

So what is the focus pump rated for? Why is it better than a Walbro 255?
