What would cause this?

I first suspected the old caliper of being frozen, due to pretty much zero pad/rotor wear.

New pads, new rotor, new caliper.

Go to bleed it, NOTHING comes out. Have verified that it's not the 'banjo' bolt, by removing the line from the new caliper. Cannot get the flex hose off yet, it's soaking in penetrating fluid.

is your ABS light on?

The ABS pump will cause problems bleeding the system unless you use the "Ford THEVES" tool to cycle the abs.

usually this isn't a problem unless you've introduced air into the system ahead of the pump.
Messing around "downstream" from the pump generally doesnt cause issues.

Agree'd with check the lines, you might have one that's collapsed on the inside.

Nope, no abs light.

I was worried you guys were going to suggest brake lines - I hate doing those things.

OK, I'll verify first that it isn't the flex hose (once/if I get it off). That'd be the first culprit I'd think.
