Don't hate me for asking, but will these fit? I wanted to go with Bassani's for the longest time for the distinct sound, but I can imagine they'd be nearly as quiet as the stock mufflers on the V6. I am also thinking about pairing SLP resonators with the FM mufflers. I can't afford an x pipe or anything special right now so that's out of the question.

Dumb question. What inlet/outlet sizes and whereabouts am I supposed to order?

2 - 2.25'' center inlet/2.25'' offset outlet

OR

2 - 2.25'' offset inlet/2.25'' center outlet

OR

1 - 2.25'' center inlet/2.25'' offset outlet
AND
1 - 2.25'' offset inlet/2.25'' center outlet

I'd like any help because I don't know what I'm doing. I just want the car to sound loud and mean as a 3.0 can without deleting mufflers, cats, or res.

EDIT: Or should I go 40 series without resonators?

if your not going to have any customized pipes made up, your best bet is to go with the center inlet and offset outlet to get it to line up with the factory pipes the best, i went with 44 delta's for a good rich sound, however if you really want it to be much louder than stock, your probably going to want to remove the resonators as well as they still keep it pretty quiet.

the best part of our exhaust is that you can keep making little adjustments to get it exactly how you want it to sound. first just cut the muffs off, and drive it around a little bit to make sure that you dont really want just a muff delete and keep the stock res's. then put in your muffs, then once you get used to the new muffs and decide that you want it louder, you just go ahead and remove the res's later.

Bassanis will not be quiet at all. Any muffler is louder than stock even on the 6. The stock mufflers are ridiculously huge.

Sweet, thank you. I had no idea of what piping would fit. But I swear I read somewhere on here that slp resonators were louder than no resonators, but I guess that wouldn't make sense because it still is a resonator.

From what I can tell from Alax's bassani clip, I don't think it's loud enough at idle. IDK, bassani's are a tough call.

Thanks guys, just needed a little guidance.

You got with the confuguration your exhaust is set up as. If not, you would always have to payp extra for the shop to make the different configuration fit.

The video's dont do justice. It sounds so much better in person. It even sounds different when driving it than hearing it drive off. For v8, I think they are percfect, I dont know about v6's though, you might be better off with FM or like a dual in/out magnaflow.

Oh man Alax, your vids are killing me. I watched the FM clip, fell in love with the sound when you started the car and took off. Watched the Bassani vid, fell in love with the sound when you took off. I just have a feeling I would get a disappointing quiet rumble from the Bassani's at idle along with an underwhelming sporty 350z tone at high rpms. I think the Bassani's shoes are too big for the v6 to fill is what I'm trying to say, which is why I'm afraid to waste the money on them.

I don't want to remove the mufflers, but it's the cheapest option, so I'm gonna try that first. Listen. Remove resonators. Listen. If it sounds like crap I'll try FM S 44's with no resonators. I'm trying to hit loud, deep, muscle tones, like near monster truck status, but still somewhat refined. Don't laugh at me. LOL

That just won't happen with the LS no matter what mufflers you use. If you want the loudest sound possible just run straight pipes. It sounds like you want the Chevy truck with glasspacks sound but the ls engines are small displacement.

I run all magnaflow and it sounds a little quieter than a mustang gt.

Yeah, pretty much nail on the head. I love the whole "monster in tuxedo" thing. I want to start my car, and watch people look around for a camaro. Not actually comparing the sounds you can get from a camaro to an LS, but you know what I mean. Do muffler shops usually carry new/used straight pipes laying around or do they have to be ordered online?

Yeah, the magnaflow mufflers alone sound amazing on the v8, but make the v6 sound like a 350z, which sound-wise, isn't man enough for me.

Straight pipes are just aluminum pipes. Muffler shops have tons of it. They will just cut out the mufflers and resonators and patch in the new pipes.

If you like the sound add tips. If not cut add mufflers then tips.

well i think most of the SPL res sound clips i've here anyone try, was with just SPL's welded in as the only thing post cat, so that would make it one of the louder options. dont remember if they where in place of the rear muffs or in the middle in the oem res location with straight pipes the rest of the way back.

yes, any muffler shop should have plenty of tube stock and a bender around. if they don't, i wouldn't let them work on my car.

now i have no idea how this would sound on a V6, but one of the best exhaust systems i have ever heard, was with a dual in, dual out muffler placed in the middle of the car, with just pipe all the way out the back, sounded amazing!

i was really happy with no res's and the 44's in the back, until i had a bad coil fry the cats, and i had to gut them out, now it truly sounds bad @ss, but at times its just a little too much, but it does almost sound like a NA 24V cobra with pipes, just too much drone, and a little more rasp that i would like, so i may try it with putting back on a different resonator and if i dont like that, i just may go back to having real cats.
