It needs some work, but the price is right, and at least the seller seems to attempt honesty. I see there is some bad clearcoat, speedo isn't working, it needs and IAC, neon is iffy, etc. Seems kind like a good project if the buyer is willing to make a deal... Just thought maybe someone may want to look into it, as if I didn't own my new '97 I would be.

i like how it says all the lsc trim was put on, bumpers, 2nd gens dont have lsc bumpers, all the bumpers are the same, only 1st gens have chrome trim in them, not gen 2 base models. the steering column doesnt work either its over extended in the picture tell tale sign of a column that doesnt move in or out anymore! i bet you could grab that car for 800 to a 1000 cash, if someone wanted a project it doesnt seem bad.

The non working speedometer, odometer, traction control, and ABS sounds like the problem I had with my 98 when I had to change the ABS module.:)

Bill, I believe you are right. You gave me that advise with the car I just sold to Ultimate SVT. I changed out the speed sensor, temporarily changed out the inst. cluster, and checked all wiring. I didn't have another ABS module so the speedo is still dead.

damn they're always on the wrong side of the country. where are the local deals!!!!

I figure that all prices are starting points, I agree it is not a deal of a lifetime. I was thinking that at $1600, like Jamie said, that it would probably go for about $1000, which is a pretty good price for a gen 2 with issues. I see lots of 1st gen marks at the $1500 pricepoint, but not many of the newer cars, so I thought it was worth sharing. Maybe it is junk, craigslist is pretty famous for that. If not, I hope someone saves it or uses it to keep thier car going. When I was asking everyone on my '95 vs. '97 thread everyone pretty much said that $1000 for a '97 that needed a few hundred in repairs was a steal.

Cars last longer in Florida.
No snow or ice, so the roads are smoother and free of salt.
And cold weather beats the hell out of a car, just the temperature alone is a stress test.

lol. one of the roads in ft myers fl i drove down was one of the worst roads i've ever seen.
they're probly not all this way but that one needed work.

The roads in FL aren't too great. My area sucks pretty bad. IDK what your standards for good roads are Calabrio but I am in Sarasota weekly and it isn't much better.

different counties have different road monies. the roads in my area are in great shape because they keep up on them, some towns have horrible roads because they spend more money on keeping boats ramps in tip top shape for tourists to lure them in with boats. florida has some serious priority issues.
