I need helping location the EGR valve and the surrounding tubes so that I can clean them out. My 2001 threw a CEL code "EGR Flow Insuffiecent (Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Insuffiecent). I have read that this is a common problem and often times it just requires a tube to be cleaned. Any help locating the EGR valve or tips on solving this problem would be a great help. Once again its a 2001 V6 with about 70k miles.

bump, it has caused my gas mileage to drop dramatically and help would greatly be appreciated...

This is on the V-8

Struggled today trying to even get it to budge, mainly due to the lack of space to fit any tools in or around there. It seems that several things will have to be removed to get a clean shot at working with this thing.

Yes, it is definitely tough to remove. The larger nut is almost impossible. I would say to spray and soak the bolts before removal.

Once you get it all removed how should I go about cleaning everything

I have never cleaned that particular part, but I heard a lot of guys cleaning some parts with sprays like throttle body cleaner or electrical cleaner. Do not take my word on it though. Check out the posts on the Mass Air Flow sensor (MAF) and see what those posts said to clean with.
