So even though my car is a bit up there in miles now I just had to try out my new 4:10 Trac-Lok out at the strip.

First run was 15.499@92.47
Second was 15.447@92.32

Although I would think this would be a great thing for a bracket car there was a problem. The first run was smash the gas on the last yellow and had a .565RT with a 2.453 '60.

I decided to load the car on the brake for the next run. Results .227RT and 2.411 60' but when the car went to shift into 2nd it hit it's rev limiter and nosed over for a split second. So that was most likely the reason my 60's was still sucky and the ET MPH didn't change much at all :confused:
 
Yeah, my 98LSC did 15.1@93.7 at Englishtown on a humid 90 degree day, and that was with only a j-mod, and the stock 3.27 open diff. With 4.10s, and a gen1, I would think you should be easily breaking into the 14s.
 
times are not great but it is a lot of fun to work on them at the track hope you had fun at least
 
The times sound about right for the traps... but you should be trapping a couple MPH higher than 92.x. Looks like most of the power you're making is being put to use, but for whatever reason it's just not pulling as strong as it should. What was the density altitude for your runs?

On a semi-related note, I get to try out my 4.11 TL rear on Friday night. I expect about 3-4 tenths slower than the above times, but then again I'm at 5300' track altitude and density altitude is probably going to be around 8000.'
 
Well aside from the IMRC being dead on one side and the one run I thought was gonna be a good one hit the rev limiter on the 1st 2nd shift :mad:

Temp that night was 73 degrees and the Humidity was 0. Barometer was 29.33 so it was a nice night to make the 2 runs I was able to get.

The trans needs a J-Mod like theres no tomorrow. I haven't done a check to see what other cell codes this thing is thrown for now? Was just bored and wanted to see what it would do with the 4:10's. Does seem like it will make a nice bracket car however :D
 
I also had let the fuel run as low as possible to save on weight. So as I was in the staging lanes it was claiming I had 9miles of fuel left, I am thinking the bog from 1st to 2nd on the foot brake launch could have been fuel starvation to :confused:

I mean it launched way harder than the first run and then right into a fuel cutout of rev limit?

Oh and the scales said I was 4046 pounds so I really didn't empty all the crap out of my trunk either :rolleyes:

Try running the car with a minimum of 9 gallons in the tank when you reach the track.

For the record, I have made my quickest pass with a full tank of gas.

If you see where the pick up is in the tank you'll quickly see why running it low on fuel cannot be a benefit to fuel delivery.

Also the fuel pump works alot better when it's submerged in fuel rather than trying to "scavenge fuel" off the bottom of the tank.

The position of the tank makes "that additional weight" in the right position to help traction as well.

Give it a shot.. 9-10 gallons.. I'd be willing to bet that your MPH increases which means your making more power.

Will do, matter of fact I may try to go again next Weds kinda cause I just got fired this Weds so I will have time to get there early :D

That and I will try to get it around 9 or 10 gal of gas and see what the dif is and if it fixes my problem :shifty:
